Extent of Antarctic sea ice reaches record levels, scientists say

Scientists say the extent of Antarctic sea ice cover is at its highest level since records began

Scientists say the extent of Antarctic sea ice cover is at its highest level since records began.

Satellite imagery reveals an area of about 20 million square kilometres covered by sea ice around the Antarctic continent.

Jan Lieser from the Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) said the discovery was made two days ago.

“This is an area covered by sea ice which we’ve never seen from space before,” he said.

“Thirty-five years ago the first satellites went up which were reliably telling us what area, two dimensional area, of sea ice was covered and we’ve never seen that before, that much area.

Adrian Peterson accused of 'abusing ANOTHER son while disciplining him'... as Minnesota Vikings player apologizes for severely whipping four-year-old boy

Adrian Peterson has been accused of abusing another of his children, it was reported this evening.

The Minnesota Vikings player allegedly injured his four-year-old son while disciplining him at his gated mansion in The Woodlands last June.

A photo shows the boy suffering from a head wound covered by two bandages, while other images reveal a scar over his right eye.

It comes just hours after Peterson spoke out for the first time since his arrest for severely whipping another of his children with a wooden switch.

Kohl's And The Rest Of The Retailers Are In Deep Trouble

I never believe government manufactured numbers. They will always be adjusted, massaged, and manipulated to achieve a happy ending for the propagandists attempting to control and fleece the sheep. Yesterday, the government produced retail sales numbers for August that were weak and the corporate MSM propaganda machine immediately threw up bold headlines declaring how strong these numbers were. Positive stories were published on the interwebs and Wall Street hack economists were rolled out on CNBC, where the bubble headed bimbos and prostitutes for the status quo like Jim Cramer and Steve Liesman declared the recovery gaining strength. Woo Hoo.

If everyone else is whipping out that credit card, why aren’t you? Credit card debt has reached a new post recession high. They tell me consumer confidence is soaring. Forget about the 92 million working age Americans supposedly not in the labor force. Forget about real household income hovering at 1999 levels. Forget about median household net worth still 30% lower than 2007. Forget about what you see with your own two eyes in malls, strip centers and office parks as you motor around our suburban sprawl empire of debt. Those Store Closing, Space Available, and For Lease signs mean nothing.

Top State Department Official: Hillary’s People Covered Up “Damaging Documents”

Sharyl Attkisson left CBS so she could cover stories like this. Once again we have a top State Department official going on the record about misconduct and once again the media will erect its blank wall of silence.

As the House Select Committee on Benghazi prepares for its first hearing this week, a former State Department diplomat is coming forward with a startling allegation: Hillary Clinton confidants were part of an operation to “separate” damaging documents before they were turned over to the Accountability Review Board investigating security lapses surrounding the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist attacks on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya.

According to former Deputy Assistant Secretary Raymond Maxwell, the after-hours session took place over a weekend in a basement operations-type center at State Department headquarters in Washington, D.C. This is the first time Maxwell has publicly come forward with the story.

ALERT For Worcester County Residents

Please Share. Phone calls are starting to be received by our county residents.

WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service today warned consumers about a sophisticated phone scam targeting taxpayers, including recent immigrants, throughout the country.

Victims are told they owe money to the IRS and it must be paid promptly through a pre-loaded debit card or wire transfer. If the victim refuses to cooperate, they are then threatened with arrest, deportation or suspension of a business or driver’s license. In many cases, the caller becomes hostile and insulting.

“This scam has hit taxpayers in nearly every state in the country. We want to educate taxpayers so they can help protect themselves. Rest assured, we do not and will not ask for credit card numbers over the phone, nor request a pre-paid debit card or wire transfer,” says IRS Acting Commissioner Danny Werfel. “If someone unexpectedly calls claiming to be from the IRS and threatens police arrest, deportation or license revocation if you don’t pay immediately, that is a sign that it really isn’t the IRS calling.” Werfel noted that the first IRS contact with taxpayers on a tax issue is likely to occur via mail

For First Time, More Singles In U.S. Than Married Couples

For the first time, there are more single people in the United States and married people, according to a new research report.

The government first began gathering information on marital status in 1976, when 37.4 percent of the population was single, which included those who were never married and divorced,

A report by financial researcher Ed Yardeni found that in August singles for the first time topped 50 percent of the population 16 and older.

Of the 248.2 million people in the U.S. who are 16 and older, 124,6 are single, compared with 123.6 who are married.

Anxiety Drugs Linked With Alzheimer's

People who use anxiety drugs such as Valium and Xanax long-term may be raising their risk of Alzheimer’s disease, French and Canadian researchers report. They found that elderly people who used drugs called benzodiazepines for three months or longer had a 43 percent to 51 percent higher risk of later developing Alzheimer’s. It’s not clear whether the drugs are causing the Alzheimer’s directly, or if people perhaps use the drugs to treat other symptoms that may be early signs of Alzheimer’s, such as depression or insomnia. But the researchers tried to factor this in as much as possible and still found a higher risk of Alzheimer’s in those who took the drugs long-term.

Bombshell Emails: White House Coordinated With Department of Labor To Hide Illegal Obama Fundraiser Hilda Solis’ Schedule

The Department of Labor coordinated with the White House on whether or not to release hidden portions of former Labor Secretary Hilda Solis’ schedule as Solis battled an FBI investigation into her illegal fundraising for President Obama.

New emails provided to The Daily Caller from the nonprofit legal research firm Cause of Action show the White House thanking the Department of Labor for “flagging” a public information request for “withheld” portions of Solis’ schedule. (SEE THE EMAIL CHAIN). The White House then asked for the name of the conservative group making the request — information that Labor officials were eager to give up.

As TheDC previously reported, Solis illegally fundraised for the Obama campaign and headlined a Latino-themed Obama fundraiser while on a trip in her official capacity as a Cabinet member, which is forbidden by the Hatch Act. (AUDIO: SOLIS LEAVING A PHONE MESSAGE ILLEGALLY FUNDRAISING FOR OBAMA)

Like the sedan, the new Falcon Ute comes with a locally-developed 4.0-liter inline six as standard. The engine develops just over 260 horsepower and can be paired with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic. Leaf-spring suspension is used at the rear to help with any heavy loads.

Federal court overturns Ohio law barring false campaign statements

Federal judge struck down the law banning political lying as unconstitutional

An Ohio law that criminalizes campaign lies was found unconstitutional and the state of Ohio was permanently blocked from enforcing it under a Thursday court decision that quoted scheming politician Frank Underwood in the Netflix TV Series “House of Cards:”

“There’s no better way to overpower a trickle of doubt than with a flood of naked truth.”

U.S. District Court Judge Timothy Black’s decision released late Thursday vindicated a four-year challenge to the law by the Susan B. Anthony List anti-abortion group, which was accused of violating it by a congressman whom the group claimed had supported taxpayer funded abortion in voting for the Affordable Care Act.

“In short, the answer to false statements in politics is not to force silence, but to encourage truthful speech in response and to let the voters, not the Government, decide what the political truth is,” Black’s decision said, after quoting the television show. “Ohio’s false statements laws do not accomplish this.”

The Shocking Display Seen at NYC’s Muslim Day Parade

New York City’s Madison Avenue was the site of the 29th annual Muslim Day Parade on Sunday. Last year’s Muslim Day Parade sparked some controversy as the black flags of jihad were spotted along the parade route. According to reports from a couple of sources, no black flags or flags from the Islamic State were on display.

However, that does not mean the parade was without controversy.

A marching band from the NYPD and a contingent of New Jersey Girl Scouts in Muslim attire kicked off the event. The streets were filled with flag-waving marchers, pro-Islam floats and a demonstration of a hanging.

I sincerely doubt his intentions were that though. Keep an eye out, he stopped at my home at 3:13pm today.

Where Do We Pee? A YouGov Survey Has The Answers

If you are like many Americans you have done it some place other than the where you are supposed to go.

That is, urinate in a place other than a bathroom.

In the shower? Among women, 59 percent of woman say they have done it at least once, compared with 65 percent of men.

This specific behavior is more popular in the Midwest than in another other region of the country.

The data comes from a YouGov survey titled the “United States of Hygiene” of 1,169 people across the United States this past July.

Feds have no idea the extent of SNAP fraud, says Iowa official

DES MOINES, Iowa — The U.S. Department of Agriculture is sure the U.S. Department of Agriculture is doing a great job fighting fraud committed by people receiving benefits in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

Wendy Dishman disagrees.

Dishman is the administrator of the Investigative Division of the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals, which has been in investigating fraud committed by SNAP recipients in the state ever since the days when the program was known as the Food Stamp Program.

Dishman says the Food and Nutrition Service, the division of USDA that runs SNAP, doesn’t even have reliable data on the extent of fraud committed by recipients.

“There’s a lot of inconsistencies in the data they collect,” Dishman told Iowa Watchdog.

FNS investigates cases of SNAP fraud committed by vendors, but leaves it to the states to investigate fraud by benefit recipients.

Issa Caught DOJ Conspiring with Dems on IRS Scandal

Liberals are disgusting with how they handle the truth.
Check it out:

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) says the Obama administration’s Justice Department has been caught red-handed trying to orchestrate the leak of committee documents related to the ongoing IRS investigation, which would have allowed Justice to comment on the documents before Republicans made them public.

Issa says he has clear evidence of this — a Justice official mistakenly called Issa’s staff directly, instead of calling a Democratic office, and asked Issa’s staff to leak the information “before the Majority” — meaning Republicans — could share it.

“I am extremely troubled by this attempt to improperly coordinate the release of committee documents with the minority staff,” Issa wrote to Attorney General Eric Holder in a Monday letter. “This effort to preemptively release incomplete and selectively chosen information undermines the department’s claims that it is responding in good faith.”

Data estimates 3 in 10 NFL retirees face cognitive woes

NFL players are likely to suffer chronic brain injury at a "significantly higher" rate than the general population and also show neurocognitive impairment at a much younger age, according to documents filed on behalf of the league in federal court Friday.

Former players between 50 and 59 years old develop Alzheimer's disease and dementia at rates 14 to 23 times higher than the general population of the same age range, according to the documents. The rates for players between 60-64 are as much as 35 times the rate of the general population, the documents reported.

The figures, compiled by actuarials hired by the NFL, appeared to be the first public admission by the league that retired players incur brain damage more frequently than the general public. The report did not specify why the rates for retired players are significantly higher.

Why Republicans Should Never Play Nice with Democrats

Democrats routinely deride Republicans as extremists bent on coarsening the discourse. In January 2014, in the same interview in which he infamously claimed that ISIS was a “jayvee” team, President Obama blamed conservative media for polarizing the country:

The issue has been the inability of my message to penetrate the Republican base so that they feel persuaded that I’m not the caricature that you see on Fox News or Rush Limbaugh, but I’m somebody who is interested in solving problems and is pretty practical, and that, actually, a lot of the things we’ve put in place worked better than people might think.

Castigating Republicans as unreasonable rhetoricians interested only in pandering to their base has become the entire Democratic 2014 campaign strategy. If the GOP will not work with Obama because they are cruel and nasty, the logic goes, the only solution is to vote them out of Congress.

'Assault Weapons' A 'Myth' Democrats Created In 1990s

On September 13, the 20th anniversary of the signing of the federal assault weapons ban, The New York Times ran a column explaining that the very term "assault weapon" is one the "Democrats created" in the 1990s in order to ban "a politically defined category of guns."

Moreover, the Times points out that the threat posed by the private ownership of "assault weapons" is mythological in comparison to FBI stats on the actual use of such guns in crime.

According to the NYT, America was "suffering from a spike in gun crime...in the early 1990s" so "Democrats created and banned [an entire] category of guns." The ban lasted from 1994 to 2004 and although crime fell during that time, a "detailed study found no proof" the decline was due to the ban.

Hard numbers showed the percentage of "assault weapons" recovered by police during the ban only rose from 1 percent to 2 percent.

NY Democrats Favor Full Rights for State's 3 Million Illegals

New York Democrats are gearing up to give undocumented immigrants legal rights and billions of dollars in public funds if the party wins control of the state Senate in November.

According to the New York Post, the legislation would offer Medicaid coverage, college tuition, driver's licenses, voting rights, and the ability to run for office, among other advantages, by offering amnesty to nearly three million illegal immigrants in New York state.

"This bill could pass if the Democrats are in charge of the Senate. They're out of their minds," GOP state Sen. Marty Golden told the Post. "This is astounding. This undermines our nation's immigration laws and procedures."

‘Dereliction of duty’: Obama’s worst scandal

WASHINGTON – For a highly accomplished lawyer, one who notched significant victories in the war on terror as a federal prosecutor, Andrew McCarthy can make a compelling case in plain English without resorting to legalese.

And when it comes to Benghazi, his case against the Obama administration boils down to this: It is the president’s worst scandal because it was a dereliction of duty, one that led to the deaths of four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens.

McCarthy is not alone in his assessment of the gravity of the scandal.

On the two-year anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2012, attack, Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., the top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, told an Oklahoma radio station he believed the Obama administration’s Benghazi cover-up would become the biggest scandal in U.S. history.

Black racism no answer to failures of white liberals

I’m amazed at how openly racist black liberals have become, and how few non-blacks are willing to call them out on it.

As I was waiting to appear on CNN recently, I listened to an interview of a Missouri legislator, who said said to Don Lemon, “The way for Ferguson Missouri to improve public relations is to have more black cops.”

Can you imagine the reaction if a city asked for more white cops?

This call for “blackness” as an answer to what’s plaguing the black community is happening a lot, and quite frankly is disturbing.

Pretty soon when we go to a store, black people will only be able to be helped by black people. Imagine a warped world where only somebody of your same color could help you!

And The State Blames The Farmers!

Last week in Worcester County the Power Company, (or one of their contractors) were out in force with chemicals being sprayed to kill ANYTHING anywhere close to the power lines.

As you can see from the first picture, there's a pond right there where they killed off the trees and weeds.

The following two pictures are along Rt. 50 where the tributaries travel to the local rivers and bays.

Now I ask you, is this at all healthy for our waterways? I personally watched one of these trucks spraying and let me tell you, it was like watching a very powerful spray from a Fire Truck, (as an example).

Anything in its way got sprayed and killed and let me tell you, it was dead in TWO DAYS. I'd say that's some pretty potent stuff. Yeah, it's the Farmers alright, NOT.

This school district in California now has a military-grade ARMORED TRUCK just like the ones US soldiers ride to combat in Afghanistan

The second-largest school district in California is raising eyebrows after its police force recently acquired a military-grade armored vehicle.

The San Diego Unified School District now has a 14-ton M-RAP — short for mine-resistant ambush protected vehicle — that American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan usually ride into combat to protect them against explosives.

The $700,000 tank was donated to the school district under a military program that distributes surplus military equipment to local police agencies.

The federal initiative has come under heavy criticism after police in Ferguson, Missouri, used military weapons usually reserved for trained US Marines against regular citizens protesting the shooting of unarmed black teenager Michael Brown, 18.

ISIS EXPOSED 100% AS CIA OPERATION: "The Next Bin Laden is Here" - Don't Be Fooled

25 Hard Facts About 9/11

Was student's brutal murder an act of domestic terrorism?

Devout Muslim suspect admitted he shot dead straight-A prep school graduate as 'vengeance' for US military action in Middle East

Prosecutors in the case of a man accused of killing a University of Richmond student earlier this summer said he may have been seeking retribution for U.S. military action against Muslims in the Middle East.

Ali Muhammad Brown and two accomplices are facing charges in connection to the slaying of 19-year-old Brendan Tevlin, who was shot multiple times in his car on June 25 in New Jersey.

Brown, 29, also has been named a suspect in three other deadly shootings in Washington state.

7 Right-Wing Christians Who Got Their Comeuppance in Hilarious Ways

The arc of justice is long, and sometimes it has a wickedly ironic sense of humor. In the case of these seven religious, right-wing pastors, preachers, lawmakers, and lobbyists, the more sanctimonious they are about everybody else’s marriage and sex habits, the more likely they are to wind up disgraced over their own.

1. Jonathan Saenz

Jonathan Saenz is best known as the leader of Texas Values, an anti-LGBT advocacy organization in the Lone Star State. In 2011 Saenz was conscripted to head the group when it split from its parent organization, where Saenz was a lobbyist. He quickly mounted campaigns opposing gay marriage and anti-discrimination ordinances and spread invective about gays and lesbians wanting to send Christians to internment camps.

But it appears his rampant homophobia springs less from pious ideology than from petty personal grievance. In fact, his homophobia seemed to have been contracted right around the time his wifesued him for divorce while dating another woman.

Saenz didn’t take news of his wife’s new girlfriend well. He moved to ban her from being around the couple’s children, and attempted to force his wife to undergo expensive psychiatric evaluation—a process he tried to get out of paying for. Saenz countersuit, alleging his wife’s fault in the divorce for adultery, went nowhere. Now he’s stuck exacting his revenge by trying to keep others from marrying.

Anne Arundel Schools Seeks Extension Of Immunization Deadline

Anne Arundel County Public Schools officials are seeking a 45-day extension of the immunization deadline for students.

The request means that no students will be excluded from school on Monday because documentation of required immunizations is not on file with their school.

State law requires that students for whom documentation of required immunizations by the 20th calendar day after school begins is not on file be excluded from school. Anne Arundel County Public Schools began classes on Aug. 25, so prior to the extension request, the deadline for documentation would have been Saturday. That would have meant that students without documentation or bona fide exceptions would have been excluded from school beginning Monday.

The Scary Amount of Oil Money ISIS Makes Every Day

President Obama, laying out his strategy last night to defeat the Islamist jihadists known as ISIS, stressed that “it will take time to eradicate a cancer” such as the terrorist group represents in the Middle East.
One hurdle in the way of Obama’s intention to work with allies to “degrade and ultimately destroy” ISIS (also known as ISIL and the Islamic State) is the brutal organization’s control of oil fields in Iraq and Syria.
ISIS uses that oil wealth to help finance its terror operations.

Maryland Principal Accused Of Bullying Members Of Her Staff

When a Prince George’s County high school launched an anti-bullying campaign four years ago, students pledged to support anyone being harassed, to report instances of bullying and to treat others with respect.

But former Largo High School employees allege that while the students were learning how to create a friendly environment, one of the worst bullies was the school’s principal.

In interviews and in legal actions filed against Principal Angelique Simpson-Marcus, the former employees said that Simpson-Marcus routinely belittled and berated staff, derided teachers and secretaries and made inappropriate comments about white teachers. Simpson-Marcus, who is black, continues to run the 1,100-student school in Upper Marlboro.

The Board of Education defends Simpson-Marcus as an effective school leader, a school system spokeswoman said.

Beer

Woman:    Do you drink beer?

Man:         Yes

Woman:   How many beers a day?

Man:        Usually about three.

Woman:   How much do you pay per beer?

Man:        $5.00, which includes a tip.

Woman:  How long have you been drinking?

Man:       About twenty years.

Woman:  So a beer costs $5 and you have 3 beers a day which puts your spending each month at $450.

In one year, it would be approximately $5,400.  Correct?

Man:       Correct.

Woman:  If in one year you spent $5,400, not accounting for inflation, the past 20 years  puts your
                 spending  at $108,000.  Correct?

Man:       Correct.

Woman: Do you know that if you didn't drink so much beer, that money could have been put
in a step-up interest savings account and after accounting for compound interest for
the past 20 years, you could have now bought a Ferrari?

Man:      Do you drink beer?

Woman: No.

Man:      Where's your Ferrari?

Why They Need Tailhooks

Air Force pilots have always wondered why Navy planes need tail hooks.

Well, here's the answer. After a tough day of flying on an aircraft carrier, the planes are always washed, and they use the hooks to hang
the planes over the side to dry.
Now you know. ..
