Helicopter Hovering Over Pocomoke City Today... What or Who Was It???

Helicopters over P-city
June 24th 2008 Pocomoke City, MD 4:20 PM a large helicopter was spotted by many citizens hovering overhead for about 45-minutes today. Whenever I hear the large chopper it sends a chill up my spine along with a prayer for an unknown, because its usually the air ambulance / rescue team for a serious accident.

As a parent whose child was not home I walked out and looked up at the chopper hovering directly over the old fire house on Fifth Street. This was not the Maryland State Police nor a typical private helicopter and the way that pilot held it steady in one spot was simply amazing. I jumped in the truck and went to the post office to pick up a delivery and the chopper had moved to almost right over downtown.

Everyone at and outside the post office was speculating what they were doing, I was hoping it was the Fed's shutting down Pocomoke's politically protected open air drug market whose profits are rumored to line the pockets of certain individuals at City Hall. DEA Helicopter (if you live in Pocomoke then you know who)

I left the post office and cruised 'the hood' where the crack dealers usually openly ply their wares but the sound of Big Brother in the air had them all off the streets. Again people were standing around looking up in the sky, talking, speculating and that chopper was hovering steady. At least we had an hour of no open "thuggin & druggin" as the P-City crew sez.

There were no squads of ground teams raiding anyone that I could see. Gee I was hoping to see the battering ram, lots of big black federal SUV's and helmeted troops breaking down doors and taking out the bad guys who openly sell crack cocaine in our small town... (at the risk of sounding like broken record to enrich the crooks at city hall)

Aerial mapping?

$1,500 an hour is pretty expensive for a task that can easily be done with fixed wing aircraft or satellite.

Real Estate Developers checking out the lay of the land? ROTFLMAO

In this market at $1,500 an hour for Pocomoke? C'mon...

Possibly the Governor or politicians... hovering for half an hour ???

My money is on the Feds nailing the slimy bastards who have been selling our kids cocaine in the open for over three decades under the watchful eyes of you know who while the locals protect, serve and deliver confiscated weapons to the crack dealers, courtesy of... well you know who...

Coke dealers

This is what they would get if there was a police force (not farce) who actually did what they were paid to do and reported to someone other than an unelected dictator who cannot get fired... (oops the sound of the dead horse cavalry again)

If you know the answer please post it here in the comments, inquiring minds want to know.

It's Pocomoke...

WWTP, NO Accountability, AGAIN!

Although the City of Salisbury has in fact delivered all of the documents necessary with the MDE after the most recent screw up on time, The MDE is in what they call the "Penalty Phase" trying to figure out what to assess penalty wise to the City, which will be NONE!

There's going to be some sort of "Consent Decree," an agreement to cease any more spills, Dee, Dee, Deeee!

In other words, the MDE is buying time until Salisbury's new Plant is under way and up and running. The "Voluntary Agreement" admits to the City created illegal activity but leaves no charges/fines against anyone.

A Consent Decree is normally used in criminal and family law. How it has been brought into this case with the MDE is beyond me?

Yes, citizens are outraged. Those who live on the river are furious. Those visiting the area that would normally fish and or use the river have been completely cut off. I was told today that you can't even use your boat on the river. So for those people who are paying fees to dock their boat in the Salisbury area are also screwed. Wait till Granddad puts up his next Post!

How about the "Can Everyone Help Bob" Post I put up earlier. Here's a guy who has Family & Friends coming to the area and they're desperate as to where they might be able to go to beat the heat and have water access.

Now I'm not saying I didn't figure Barrie I Take Full Responsibility Tilghman would once again get away with further destroying your land, I figured this would be the case. However, citizens are outraged at the arrogance of this we'll get together once a week and discuss things meetings, rather than truly taking full responsibility and FIRING some of those responsible.

Heck, I'm told that there's not a single person who works for the City that will have any clue as to how to run this new Plant once it's on line. How's that for a scare? It's something no one has asked about and it's certainly not something this Mayor is willing to discuss openly. The former Public Works Director John Jacobs was the "Go To Guy" for the WWTP and he's now gone.

Has anyone ever notice how Barrie Tilghman does this to the Citizens of Salisbury on a regular basis? Once things get tight pressure wise she's full and loaded with excuses. First Pam Oland was new on the job and they terminated all the Go To Guys in the accounting department for the City. Then there was the next excuse, she was pregnant and had a baby. Look at the SPD and Chief Webster. They promised raises to the Police Officers and after the first year they dropped those raises, yet they wouldn't do so for Developer Reimbursements in the millions and borrowed money to do so!

Enough is Enough Ladies & Gentlemen. It's time for Barrie Tilghman to go and the word on the street in Ocean City today says she's not planning on running for Office again, Duh, go figure. Salisbury News brought the witch down, I don't care what anyone says, it's true. We are your source for accountability and if you're not accountable, we'll expose it and you'll lose all of your previous support. It's no wonder this woman is suing me. LOL

In the last 10 years, 3.5 million gallons leaked from the WWTP into the River! I take full responsibility, MY A$$!

Wicomico County Sheriff's Office Press Releases

I don't normally make statements on their Press Releases but do note the addresses of each arrest. ARE YOU LISTENING LYNN CATHCART?

Location: 500 Block of N. Curlew Drive, Salisbury, MD
Suspects: Lynette Marie Johnson, 31, Salisbury, MD

Narrative: On 23 June at 10:45PM, deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office investigated an altercation in the 500 Block of N. Curlew Drive. While on location, one of the participants in the altercation, Lynette Johnson, refused to quit yelling or cursing at other individuals. The deputies were attempting to clarify what had happened in the altercation they were called to investigate, but were unable due to Johnson’s belligerent and loud behavior. After Johnson refused several requests to cease her unruly behavior, one of the deputies on the scene attempted to place Johnson under arrest for Disorderly Conduct. Johnson actively resisted the deputy’s attempt, pulled away and even grabbed a hold of the deputy herself. Johnson was eventually placed into restraints and transported to the Central Booking Unit at the Wicomico County Detention Center.

While at the Central Booking Unit, Johnson was processed and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Hindering and Assault on a Deputy. After an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner, Johnson was released on Personal Recognizance.

Suspects: Deltez Keyon Jackson, Salisbury, MD

Narrative: On 22 June 2008, deputies responded to a report of a subject threatening to burn down a house on Shamrock Drive in Salisbury, MD. Upon arrival, they discovered that Deltez Keyon Jackson had poured gasoline throughout the first floor of his residence on Shamrock Drive. The deputies were clearly able to smell the odor of gasoline permeating through the air. After checking the residence, it was determined that Jackson had left prior to the arrival of the deputies. Investigation revealed that Jackson had an argument with some other individuals and it was during this that Jackson retrieved the gasoline, began pouring it throughout the house and threatened to light the house on fire.

Since the deputies were unable to locate Jackson, they obtained a warrant for his arrest. That warrant was served on 24 June 2008 and Jackson was subsequently taken to the Wicomico County Detention Center where he was processed and charged with attempted First Degree Arson. After an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner, Jackson was held on $20,000.00 bond in the Detention Center.

Can Everyone Help Ben?????

I was wondering if you could suggest a place to go swimming. With the "crap" in the river that is eliminated and years ago I was told by my doctor not to swim at Schumaker because I had a severe skin infection he believed came from the the "still" water. My best friend and her kids are coming down and to avoid the cost of Ocean City or the National Park (love them dearly though) We are planning on going to Raccoon Point by Princess Anne I just wanted to know if anything was closer. Can't afford or really think it's a wise idea to have a pool so I thought I would ask the question. My neighbors have no ideas. Thanks for reading this and I hope it finds you and the "staff" very well

SALISBURY NEWS VS.THE DAILY TIMES

Dear Joe:

As a avid reader of Salisbury News it has become increasingly clear that your news organization is best compared to modern day 'FOX NEWS NETWORK' .

You news coverage is real whereas your competitors news, THE DAILY TIMES, is slanted while only reporting from the status quo. The Daily Times staff and their reporters ineptitude in depicting the facts as they really exist is totally inexcusable. An eloquent example of that is in this mornings DAILY TIMES edition whereby the Governor touts Maryland's job growth.

Quite the Contrary, the facts speak for themselves, your posting recently of the closings of 50 local renown businesses just a few days ago diametrically contradicts the claims made by our Governor. My question to The Daily Times . . . where are your reporters heads? How can they be so incompetent and complacent in reporting the real life facts as they exist. As a life long citizen of Wicomico County I can actually physically take you to the 50 business fatalities locations where their existence was real. Fact is . . . they are no longer there. The employees are all gone! How much more real does it get.

You news organization is a real treasure chest for our citizenry in trying to decipher 'the real verses the mirage'.
You truly deserve a GOLD MEDAL for keeping our public informed concerning the reality of life here on the shore. This is something that we haven't been getting from The Daily Times for a number of years now.

Mayor Tilghman Is Too Good For Wicomico County

Although the GOB is usually cleaned by the County's "General Services Team," Mayor Tilghman refuses to allow them to clean her carpets. Instead, YOU, the taxpayer, are paying for an outside carpet cleaning service to cleans her Office.

Granted, the Mayor's choice of contractor Servpro does excellent work and if I were in their shoes I'd take the contract as well. However, this service is already provided but like I said, Mayor Tilghman refused to allow the County to do so. Once the County learned the Mayor sent a memo stating they were going to do their own work, the County again confronted the Mayor and offered to provide their services and she refused.

One County representative said, maybe she feels we don't do a good enough job? However, it seems to be good enough for the County Executive and the rest of the County Employees. Your tax dollars hard at work.

Hmm, I Wonder if this May be One of the Reasons Gas Prices are Sooo High?

Remember when the Senate Judiciary Committee met with Oil Company Execs the other week. Well, I came upon this today, and doing research all over the net, have not been able to dispute it.

What I find interesting; this is certainly not the slant that we got from the MSM News sources. Their slant was all about how evil these CEO's are, yet this segment of the hearings tells the story of how our own government is causing the cost of oil to be so out of control.

Some information to digest regarding the evil American oil companies. May 21, 2008

Earlier today, the Senate Judiciary Committee summoned top executives from the petroleum industry for what Chairman Pat Leahy thought would be a politically profitable inquisition. Leahy and his comrades showed up ready to blame American oil companies for the high price of gasoline, but the event wasn't as satisfactory as the Democrats had hoped.

The industry lineup was formidable: Robert Malone, Chairman and President of BP America, Inc.; John Hofmeister, President, Shell Oil Company; Peter Robertson, Vice Chairman of the Board, Chevron Corporation; John Lowe, Executive Vice President, Conoco Philips Company; and Stephen Simon, Senior Vice President, Exxon Mobil Corporation. Not surprisingly, the petroleum executives stole the show, as they were far smarter, infinitely better informed, and much more public-spirited than the Senate Democrats.
One theme that emerged from the hearing was the surprisingly small role played by American oil companies in the global petroleum market. John Lowe pointed out:
I cannot overemphasize the access issue. Access to resources is severely restricted in the United States and abroad, and the American oil industry must compete with national oil companies who are often much larger and have the support of their governments. We can only compete directly for 7 percent of the world's available reserves while about 75 percent is completely controlled by national oil companies and is not accessible.

Stephen Simon amplified:
Exxon Mobil is the largest U.S. oil and gas company, but we account for only 2 percent of global energy production, only 3 percent of global oil production, only 6 percent of global refining capacity, and only 1 percent of global petroleum reserves. With respect to petroleum reserves, we rank 14th. Government-owned national oil companies dominate the top spots. For an American company to succeed in this competitive landscape and go head to head with huge government-backed national oil companies, it needs financial strength and scale to execute massive complex energy projects requiring enormous long-term investments.
To simply maintain our current operations and make needed capital investments, Exxon Mobil spends nearly $1 billion each day. Because foreign companies and governments control the overwhelming majority of the world's oil, most of the price you pay at the pump is the cost paid by the American oil company to acquire crude oil from someone else:

Last year, the average price in the United States of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was around $2.80. On average in 2007, approximately 58 percent of the price reflected the amount paid for crude oil. Consumers pay for that crude oil, and so do we. Of the 2 million barrels per day Exxon Mobil refined in 2007 here in the United States , 90 percent were purchased from others.
Another theme of the day's testimony was that, if anyone is "gouging" consumers through the high price of gasoline, it is federal and state governments, not American oil companies. On the average, 15% percent of the cost of gasoline at the pump goes for taxes, while only 4% represents oil company profits. These figures were repeated several times, but, strangely, not a single Democratic Senator proposed relieving consumers' anxieties about gas prices by reducing taxes.

The last theme that was sounded repeatedly was Congress's responsibility for the fact that American companies have access to so little petroleum. Shell's John Hofmeister explained, eloquently:
While all oil-importing nations buy oil at global prices, some, notably India and China , subsidize the cost of oil products to their nation's consumers, feeding the demand for more oil despite record prices. They do this to speed economic growth and to ensure a competitive advantage relative to other nations.

Meanwhile, in the United States , access to our own oil and gas resources has been limited for the last 30 years, prohibiting companies such as Shell from exploring and developing resources for the benefit of the American people.

Senator Sessions, I agree, it is not a free market.
According to the Department of the Interior, 62 percent of all on-shore federal lands are off limits to oil and gas developments, with restrictions applying to 92 percent of all federal lands. We have an outer continental shelf moratorium on the Atlantic Ocean , an outer continental shelf moratorium on the Pacific Ocean , an outer continental shelf moratorium on the eastern Gulf of Mexico , congressional bans on on-shore oil and gas activities in specific areas of the Rockies and Alaska , and even a congressional ban on doing an analysis of the resource potential for oil and gas in the Atlantic, Pacific and eastern Gulf of Mexico .

The Argonne National Laboratory did a report in 2004 that identified 40 specific federal policy areas that halt, limit, delay or restrict natural gas projects. I urge you to review it. It is a long list. If I may, I offer it today if you would like to include it in the record.
When many of these policies were implemented, oil was selling in the single digits, not the triple digits we see now. The cumulative effect of these policies has been to discourage U.S. investment and send U.S. companies outside the United States to produce new supplies. As a result, U.S. production has declined so much that nearly 60 percent of daily consumption comes from foreign sources.

The problem of access can be solved in this country by the same government that has prohibited it. Congress could have chosen to lift some or all of the current restrictions on exportation and production of oil and gas. Congress could provide national policy to reverse the persistent decline of domestically secure natural resource development.

Later in the hearing, Senator Orrin Hatch walked Hofmeister through the Democrats' latest efforts to block energy independence:

HATCH: I want to get into that. In other words, we're talking about Utah , Colorado and Wyoming . It's fair to say that they're not considered part of America 's $22 billion of proven reserves.

HOFMEISTER: Not at all.
HATCH: No, but experts agree that there's between 800 billion to almost 2 trillion barrels of oil that could be recoverable there, and that's good oil, isn't it?
HOFMEISTER: That's correct.
HATCH: It could be recovered at somewhere between $30 and $40 a barrel?
HOFMEISTER: I think those costs are probably a bit dated now, based upon what we've seen in the inflation...
HATCH: Well, somewhere in that area.
HOFMEISTER: I don't know what the exact cost would be, but, you know, if there is more supply, I think inflation in the oil industry would be cracked. And we are facing severe inflation because of the limited amount of supply against the demand.
HATCH: I guess what I'm saying, though, is that if we started to develop the oil shale in those three states we could do it within this framework of over $100 a barrel and make a profit.
HOFMEISTER: I believe we could.
HATCH: And we could help our country alleviate its oil pressures.
HOFMEISTER: Yes.
HATCH: But they're stopping us from doing that right here, as we sit here. We just had a hearing last week where Democrats had stopped the ability to do that, in at least Colorado .
HOFMEISTER: Well, as I said in my opening statement, I think the public policy constraints on the supply side in this country are a disservice to the American consumer.

The committee's Democrats attempted no response. They know that they are largely responsible for the current high price of gasoline, and they want the price to rise even further. Consequently, they have no intention of permitting the development of domestic oil and gas reserves that would both increase this country's energy independence and give consumers a break from constantly increasing energy costs.

Every once in a while, Congressional hearings turn out to be informative

O M G!

Another Record Day!

Yesterday, (I have no clue where it came from) proved to be yet another Record Day for Salisbury News. This is the time of year when we're all mellow Blog wise because people are traveling and on vacation, therefore we truly expect lower numbers. NOT YESTERDAY! I don't know where everyone is coming from but my God, Wow! I guess there still is some room for growth. Who'da thunk it?

Salisbury News vs. The Daily Times?

For the few of you that are left still subscribing to the Daily Times, how did you like what got delivered today? How do you have a major front page article about a report that will be coming out later today and not have any concrete information about the subject at hand? It clearly shows that they have nothing to share and that they better announce a day ahead of time that tomorrow they'll have information Salisbury News might share today. TOO FUNNY!

Then there's the Fernando Gerrero Fight. Did you notice how that article just bounced around from one thing to another and then another? It's Tuesday, he fought on Saturday and they're still dragging that one along like they have one up on everyone else. Again, TOO FUNNY!

Then you look at today's Salisbury News and think, yep, the only reason people are buying the Daily Slime is to see who died and or read the comics. Am I being too bold? Have a Great Day everyone!

You Can't Manage Mother Nature, But Supply Can Lower the Cost of Oil

An editorial in Tuesday's Daily Times unintentionally highlights two concepts that the left simply refuse to accept - you can manage neither Mother Nature nor markets. Despite eons of historical evidence to the the contrary, the socialist-minded among us continue to try. A 60 Minutes piece on Sunday highlighted the ridiculous lengths that our federal government employs to manage the salmon population in the Columbia River.

This past year legislature in several states, including Maryland, rushed to place severe limits on the recreational and commercial harvest of blue crabs. If you listened to the environmental left, the blue crab was heading for extinction. This year's harvest appears to be abundant, to say the least. Leftist enviro's want the federal government to destroy dams providing cheap hydroelectric power to industry in our Pacific and Mountain states in order to protect salmon and other species.

With the price of gas over $4.00 per gallon and diesel over $5.00 in some parts of the country these same people refuse to accept the fact that opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the outer continental shelf to oil exploration and drilling could have an immense effect on the price of oil. They claim that it will be a "drop in the bucket" and won't affect prices.

While it is true that it would take several years to get rigs online, new supply will affect price. It's as true today as it was in 1776 when Adam Smith published The Wealth of Nations or the thousands of years prior when people knew that the market worked, they just didn't have a book explaining how.

When will the left learn a few basic concepts? Markets work. They always have and they always will. Despite innumerable unsuccessful attempts, we can't manage God's creation.

Come work for us

Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 500 employees and has the following statistics: *

29 have been accused of spousal abuse
7 have been arrested for fraud
19 have been accused of writing bad checks
117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
3 have done time for assault
71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
8 have been arrested for shoplifting
21 are currently defendants in lawsuits
84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year

Can you guess which organization this is?

It's the 535 members of the United States Congress.

The same group that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

Update On Jeannie Haddaway Visit

After Jeannie explained the scenario about how LLC's are being treated by our State Legislature, whereby she explained that the original cost for registering an LLC was $100 annually. . . then they proposed $300 annually . . . then it went to $500 annually. . .that this State is not safe for any business to conduct business . . period.

And then when the Rural Broadband bill was to be implemented the Democrats wanted to tax the installation per mile at some astronomical rate. The way it was passed. . . every they have to cross a stream, tributary, or ditch then their are environmental impact studies and a special tax assessment. And this is for trenching in broadband!

Another thing. . . I wasn't aware until last night that Maryland was ranked #1 in the nation in real estate value decline. And also, there is an exodus or migration as the population is declining in Maryland.

Jeannie also mentioned that the Democrats tout that they eliminated 700 State jobs. . . but the record shows they created 1200 new ones and what is alarming is that they are still funding the 700 State jobs they claim to have eliminated.

Bottom line Joe. . . I knew it was bad around here especially for businesses. . but after last night it really makes one want to pick-up and move on to a more friendly environment. You should be thankful you live in Delaware.

On a personal note. When you read the Daily Slime this morning where the Governor is actually selling everyone on a whole different outlook for Maryland it makes you wonder, who's telling YOU the truth? Are you getting more accurate information from Salisbury News or the Daily Slime?

There is More Than One Way to Eat an Elephant

I graduated from Hollywood High School in 1980, and during my time their I took a Marine Biology Class that I found absolutely fascinating. Credit must be given to my teacher however, his humor and down to earth realism made arthropods and sephalopods extremely interesting. He was also the head of the Ski Club, and most of his students became very close to him and many have stayed in contact with him over the years. I am one who has kept in touch. He has a pretty warped sense of humor not unlike my own, and lives quite a colorful life. He keeps a journal of his life as a caretaker of a huge ranch in Northern California, and sends out the latest entries to all who care to read it. In today's entry he included this story about a friend of his in Arizona. Below is his story:

I have a friend who is president of his homeowner's association down in
Arizona. They were having a terrible problem with trash on the side of the
road that is around his association's homes The reason, according to my
friend, is there is being built just next to them, six new homes.....big
ones! He said the trash (McDonalds and Burger King bags, etc) was coming
from the Mexican work crews working at the construction sites. . He
pleaded with the site supervisors and the general contractor to no avail,
called the City, County, and the Police and got no help.

So, the association decided to take matters into their own hands.
They organized about twenty folks and named themselves The "Inner
Neighborhood Services." They went out at lunch time and "policed" the
Trash themselves. It is what they did while picking up the trash that is
Hilarious!

They got some navy blue baseball caps and had the initials "INS" put on
the caps in gold lettering. It doesn't take a rocket scientist, however, to
understand what they hoped people would think it means.

Well, after their first day of pick-up detail, with them wearing their caps
and some carrying cameras; 46 out of 68, of the construction workers
did not show up for work the next morning! It¹s now been ten days and
They haven't come back yet!

Now the General Contractor, I understand is madder than hell, but can't
say anything publicly, because he could be busted for hiring "illegal
aliens". Wallace and his bunch can't be accused of impersonating INS
folks, because they have it on their home owner association records the
vote to form the new committee within their association ‹ plus they
informed the INS about what they were doing in advance, and according to
Wallace, the INS basically said .... "Have at it"!

Just Wondering?????

Where are all of the Hollywood celebrities holding telethons asking for help in restoring Iowa and helping the folks affected by the floods?

Where is all the media asking the tough questions about why the federal government hasn't solved the problem? Asking where the FEMA trucks and trailers are?

Why isn't the Federal Government relocating Iowa people to free hotels in Chicago?

When will Spike Lee say that the Federal Government blew up the levees that failed in Des Moines?

Where are Sean Penn and the Dixie Chicks?

Where are all the looters?

Where is the hysterical 24/7 media coverage complete with reports of cannibalism and shooting at helicopters? (which never happened in N.O. either, BTW)

Where are the people declaring that George Bush hates rural people?

How come in 2 weeks, you will never hear about the Iowa flooding ever again?

Does Anyone Else See The Irony Here?

Airplane Conversation

Barack Obama was seated next to a little girl on an airplane He
turned to her and said, 'Let's talk. I've heard that flights go
quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.'

The little girl, who had just opened her book, closed it slowly and
said to the Obama, 'What would you like to talk about?'

'Oh, I don't know,' said the Obama. 'How about What Changes I Should
Make To America?' and he smiles.

'OK, ' she said. 'That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask
you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same
stuff - grass - . Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow
turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass.
Why do you suppose that is?'

Obama, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence, thinks
about it and says, 'Hmmm, I have no idea.'

To which the little girl replies, 'Do you really feel qualified to
change America when you don't know shit?

Question of the Day, Tue 6/24

This week is National Mosquito Control Awareness Week.

Do you pay to have your property sprayed for mosquitoes? Do you think it helps?

A Letter To The Editor

Hi Joe,

My name is Chris, and I'm a big fan of your blog. I might not agree with everything that gets posted, but I do appreciate the incisive perspective. I, too, believe that our beloved city is broken, and in need of much fixing. Your blog is a bastion of truth in local politics. From my left/centrist perspective, I can't really get on board with some of the more right-leaning posts (i.e. the Andy Harris promotion), but there is much more that I DO agree with. Keep up the good work. I plan on becoming the Colmes of the site.

As I mentioned before, we have FAR more upon which we can come together than we have to separate us. And, for the record, Gannett can go to hell. I, for one, hope that all of the Daily Slime's circulation falls off, and that those who looked to that rag for their daily news will grab their collective mouse, and turn to sbynews.blogspot.com for the TRUTH.

Thank You Chris! I'm glad to see more and more of these kind of message lately. Look, we have some fantastic Contributors who deserve so much credit, it isn't funny. If it means anything to you, I too like Frank Kratovil, as a man/person. However, I personally do not agree with his experience as the state of Maryland is in some pretty deep, doo, doo right now. I'm not going to try to sell you on Andy Harris or turn you into a Republican. Lord knows Democrats do need all the help they can get though, LOL.

Seriously though, thank you, all of you. This Blog has come a VERY long way because of all of you.

Jeannie Haddaway Visit

Joe:

Just wanted to give you an update on Delegate Haddaway's visit last night.

She was very well received among our community, particularly, her sponsorship and support for Renewable Energy Initiatives. Everyone who has been following her knows full well that she has been and is a strong proponent for implementation of Alternative Energy Inititives. She co-sponsored House Bill 377 - Solar and Geothermal Grant bills for Marylanders. She has been a strong proponent for Hydrogen Fuel Cell research. Moreover, she supported EmPOWER Maryland Energy Efficiency Act of 2008 http://mlis.state.md.us/2008rs/billfile/hb0374.htm which establishes goals to reduce Maryland's energy consumption 15% by 2015.

She supported House Bill 369 - Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays 2010 Trust Fund and Nonpoint Source Fund an important environmental protection bill.

And she also drafted legislation for Rural Broadband - House Bill 1156.

These were just a few of her highlights tonight at the standing room only audience.
