This guy Ireton reminds me a lot of our President Obama. I'll give him some style points (I love the rolled up sleeves and grasping of the shades)but will have to deduct points for lack of substance.

Tip: Don't make a video when the sun's in your eyes. "This river will be swimmable and fishable in 10 years." WTF! 10 YEARS!

Why are you surprised? I'm fifty years old, and I was not allowed to swim in the Wicomico as a child. It takes a long time to undo what has been done.

You could probably swim in it right now. Some people have always gone in that river. But ten years to get it back to something close to natural doesn't seem too long.

It continues to amaze me that this blog continues to blow the horn for this guy. His first 100 days and the dude has done NOTHING for your city. and yet, you rag on the President, whose first 100 days are millions of times more difficult, for getting nothing done. Do you actually read what you write????????????????

I like that a mayor is finally paying attention to the river. I hope they get those filters in place.

One note, though. Instead of giving credit to Louise Smith for her cleanups, Mayor Ireton should be giving Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen credit for standing up for filters and for the river. Unlike Louise Smith, they aren't doing it to gain favor or votes, but just because it's the right thing to do.

I hope to see a cleaner river in a few years. That would be so wonderful!

fix the river, fix the prostitution/crime causes, grow a fiscally conservative spine, and STAY AWAY from Frank

Don't do those things and see what happens.

Who give's a s*** about the river when crime is rampant and the officers are being neglegted by the one who promised to support them.
