Dr. Jose F. Alvarado Accident Scene

Out of respect for the Family we have removed the images of the accident scene. Thanks Mike.

Many wonderful and kind messages have come in referencing Dr. Alvarado and his Family. As you can clearly see from the images above, this was a very serious accident and your prayers are certainly needed. Let's simply pray for a miracle as well as a complete recovery.

7:34 one can only hope that your family never experiences something like this. I will pray that you will find compassion at some point in your life. It is amazing that the passenger compartment of the car held up so well. That, a seat belt and an air bag are probably what saved the Dr. Prayers go out to him, his family and friends for a very positive outcome.

7:34 ~ he was not backing up, but he did swerve off the road and hit the trailer that was stopped on the side of the road.

Dr. Alvarado was my pediatrician for as long as I can remember. He is a wonderful welcoming man with a kind spirit. In my worse pain a visit with him and I felt better already. I will continue to keep him and his family in my prayers.-and a note to others, I am aware this page is free to the public and to anyone that chooses to write anything, but I ask of you, please when posting your blogs keep the family and close friends in mind that might be reading these and treat this page the way you would like your family memebers to be treated.

We only had the pleasure of knowing Dr. A for alittle over a year. He was my daughters doctor and a wonderful one at that. He always made me feel welcome and really took the time to answer questions. My prayers and thoughts are with his family at this time.

Dr. Alvarado is still alive. He is having increased bleeding on the brain and brain swelling. His condition is very unstable but he is still alive - this is via someone at the hospital with the family. Please keep Dr. A, his doctors, and his family in your prayers

ATTN ALL READERS: Dr. A HAS NOT passed away! Not only have I been a patient of his for 25 years, but he's also my 2 childrens dr. He also saved my son's life when he was 2 days old! I we that wonderful man my life. I've just spoke to Dr. A son, Juan, [his mother-in-law rather] and he's havin an MRI performed as I am writing this, to check for swelling on the brain. Things are kind of sketchy now, an dafter they get the MRI results, they may have to do surgery. I can tell you that both of his eye sockets are broken, but he was able to move his limbs and squeeze their hands when he was asked a question. Everyone pray for this wonderful man/doctor!! Even if you never had the pleasure meeting him...still pray for a FULL & SPEEDY recovery!!

Dr. Jose Alverado

My kids and my favorite doc. He's been with me through two tiny babies that were born prematurely and too small to leave the hospital. Lung infections, hearing problems, ear tubes, operations, head lice and even social issues. Most recently he gave my kids their 9 year annual check up. What a gracious, kind, patient, and gentle man.

A few weeks ago we spoke about the health care issue being pushed by this administration. He disagreed with it and spent a long time talking to me about it and the health care forum we planned to hold in late July. He was kind enough to give me the personal cell phone number of his dear friend who runs Perdue's medical plan. I am so devastated to hear he was in a life threatening car accident today. I've been in tears since I have heard this. My little girls have lost all but one grandparent in their short lifetime. They have had much too much of an education about death. I pray I don't have to have this talk with them again about their doctor they have known all their life.

Dr. Alverado was in a horrible accident on Route 50 today. It appears he ran into the back of a tractor trailer. He was in a convertible.

My deepest sincere prayers for the Alverado family and my plea to the good Lord that this man be looked over, protected, and healed.

There is no better doctor that Dr. Alvarado. He's been my 17 yr old dtr and 5 yr old dtr's pediatrician since they were born! My family including my husband, children, mother, sister and her whole family and anyone I have ever talked to over the years have been so impressed with him and his dedication to his patients. He always has a SMILE, on his face and is so patient, gentle, soft spoken, calm, friendly, knowledgeable, compassionate, respectful, etc. that EVERYONE LOVES HIM!! We have been in his office NUMEROUS TIMES over the past 17 years and he has ALWAYS taken time to thoroughly explain medical things and acts like he has all the time in the world to answer questions while there is a waiting room full of patients. He never makes you feel rushed, takes all concerns seriously, and makes you feel so much better after you've been seen. He once met my sister w/her two sick twins on a Sat. nite at his office at 9:30pm to give them breathing treatments. How can anyone be more dedicated to their profession? He also does missionary work in other countries. He has made such a huge impact in this community as he is always there for his patients in their time of need. I can only hope the drs at shock trauma provide him w/the same quality care and compassion that he has always given to others here. He deserves the BEST!! What a terrible loss it would be for all of us in this small community. He is a role model and does not deserve this unfortunate tragedy. Please pray for Dr. Alvarado, his family, his staff and his patients! I'm crying as I read these posts and after seeing the terrible car photo on The Daily Times site. Please hang in there for us Dr. Alvarado and FIGHT! My whole family is praying for a miracle and a fast recovery!!YOUR COMMUNITY LOVES YOU AND SUPPORTS YOU!!! God Bless you!

I am in awe and shock with tears running down my face since I have learned that someone I know was involved in the horrible accident on Rt. 50. Dr. Alvarado has been there for both of our boys whenever needed. He was always so patient and took the time to check everything out before we left, explained everything in detail. My heart aches for his family and for this entire community who is awaiting word on his status updates. I hope and pray that only those who truly are getting first hand information is providing us with those updates and not misinforming us. We all have the doctor and his family in our prayers and thoughts. I know it will be a tough night for all who gotten to know and love Dr. Alvarado for his kindness and fantastic handling of his career in the medical field.

You pulled the photo? Wow, I just lost respect for you as a news source. Go ahead, be a blogger, that's fine, but if you're trying to perform some form of journalism -- and I think you are -- then you report the news, period. You chronicle the events. Even when it's hard, you do it, because that's what you set out to do. Post this, don't post this, I don't care. I know you'll read it.

This is not a topic for people to be making negative comments about-I have never dealt with this doctor personally but this is another human being who is fighting for his life.Have some decorum.

Dr. Joe is in stable but critical condition.

God be with him, I hope he gets through this. He has been my doctor all my life and a dear friend.

The nurses at PRMC should not be giving anyone information regarding his condition, as there are laws put in place to protect this information and that only authorized people are allowed to receive this information. That is why we are all getting conflicting information, because everyone is going by heresay. He isn't even at PRMC, he is in Baltimore. HIPPA people!

Anonymous said...

hi all...first of all i wanna say to you all is STOP FIGHTING!! that is so dumb to argue, you could be putting all that energy into praying for a FULL recovery...priorities people. 2nd of all blogger at 6:48 am...i'm not a nurse, i'm a friend of the fam and i want the people who know and love him to know the truth!! if is wasn't for me telling you all the truth...there would still be false reports out there, saying that he has passed and people would give up hope and stop praying for him!! i work for a dr and i know ALL about HIPPA...so you really dont need to go there. if it were your fam or close friend wouldn't it make you angry if people were writting false news about them? so get off my case and cont to pray for a full recovery to the best dr ever...k. as of this morning...he's still in ICU with his family by his side...i'll post more as i get it

As a friend of the driver of the truck, be it known that the truck was disabled with a broken radiator hose and had all of its proper makers up to let motorists know that this was a disabled vehicle. The driver of the truck was uninjured because he was sitting under the tree's when the accident occurred waiting for a truck to come fix his vehicle. The truck was NOT moving there was no rain on the highway and the car slammed into the back of the trailer doing aprox 80mph. the driver also assisted the Doctor while waiting for medical help.
My prayers go out to the family, and to my friend who witnessed this tragic event.

joealbero said...

anonymous 12:40, allow me to correct ONE thing here. I had one of the witnesses call me this morning and told me exactly what happened as they were in the left lane and Dr. Alvarado was in the right lane slightly behind them. He was NOT doing 80 mph as you have stated. I'll get into more details later but that is not accurate.

My heart goes out to not only Dr Alvarado and his family but to the entire community. He is a great doctor and to lose him would be devestating. He is a gentle, sweet and genuily concerned Dr. which in these days is hard to find. I have trusted him with the care of my daughter and pray that she can continue to see him. This whole situation has left my family heartbroken. May God bless him and pull him through

As I sit reading all the comments my heart just hurts. I told my oldest daughter yesturday who is 14 and she said we need to pray and pray right now. Today I told my 9 year old she stated to cry and was so sad about this news. So we talked about all the good time we had when Dr. A saw us and how sweet he is. It made our family relize to give hug, give a thank you because we just never know. Please pray, pray and pray use words to lift him and his family up.

If you look at the pictures you can see the truck was off the road and the hood was up on the truck. The truck was pushed 4.5 feet. I am just trying to say the driver of the truck was not at fault. the doctor had to be moving fast to push a heavy tractor with a flat bed 4.5 feet with an emergency brake on. If it were not for my friend the driver of the truck calling 911 and aiding the man along with an RN who happened to stop, he might not be here as I write this. I have been praying for the man who I do not even know that he survies because so many people love him.
