State of Delaware- Today, August 5th, Department of Safety and Homeland Security Secretary Lewis D. Schiliro and Delaware State Police Colonel Robert M. Coupe are pleased to announce the following appointments and promotions to the Delaware State Police Executive Staff. These individuals will assume their new duties on August 10th, 2009.
Captain James Paige- Lieutenant Colonel
Captain Paige is currently the Commander in charge at Troop 9 in Odessa. He was hired in 1984 and was a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command Leadership in 1995. Aside from his current responsibilities at Troop 9, Captain Paige worked in the Internal Affairs Division, the Video Lottery Unit and the DSP Traffic Section. Captain Paige holds a Bachelors of Science Degree from Pennsylvania State University.
Captain Monroe Hudson- Administrative Major
Captain Hudson currently heads the Human Resources Department of the State Police at DSP Headquarters in Dover and was hired in 1988. Captain Hudson was a 2004 graduate of the FBI National Academy and obtained his Bachelors of Science Degree from Wilmington University in 1999. During his tenure with the State Police, Captain Hudson worked in the Special Investigations Unit, the Sex Offenders Task Force, the Governor’s Task Force and was the DSP Trooper of the Year in 2001.
Captain Nathaniel McQueen- Operations Major
Captain McQueen has been with the State Police since 1988. He is currently the Troop Commander at Troop 2 in Glasgow and held similar posts at Troops 1 and 9. Earlier in his career, Captain McQueen served as a Traffic Lieutenant at Troop 3 in Woodside. He also served as a Burglary Unit supervisor at Troop 2’s previous location in New Castle. Captain McQueen holds a Masters Degree in Social Work from Delaware State University as well as a Bachelors of Science Degree from Wilmington University. He was a 2002 graduate of the FBI National Academy.
Colonel Robert M. Coupe says, “Captains Paige, Hudson and McQueen will join me, and Major Joseph Papili, as members of the executive staff. I am extremely excited about the future that lies before us and am certain that the goals we have as a police department are even more attainable with the leadership, motivation and vision these gentlemen bring. This is a terrific time for DSP.”
