Mr. Kratovil, My Grandfather Is A Retired War Veteran

What are you going to do to make sure he is cared for with Health Care?

Congressman Kratovil responded by telling this very young man that many Soldiers are committing suicide. He went on to explain how they're going off to war and seeing horrible things and then committing suicide and this has to be addressed.

Not for nothing but this was NOT the kind of answer Mr. Kratovil should have shared with this young man. Out of all of the questions asked, Frank really never answered this young man's question but instead took another direction, one in which will certainly come back and bite him down the road.

Considering Salisbury News is gaining momentum daily, it's articles like this that will again reach the MSM, (perhaps) and be shared around the Country. Lord knows with all the hits and attention we've been getting recently, there's a LOT more people viewing Salisbury News than ever before., That being said, it's easy to sit on the outside and criticize and to be honest with you I personally believe Frank, (if he could) would take back that moment in a New York Second.

To the young man and his Grandfather, THANK YOU! You're a brave young man and your Grandfather must be VERY proud of you.

wow, is that poor kid now wondering if his grandpa will now kill himself?

let's hope that guy's folks have told him how Frank helped to stop the ObamaCare steamroller in Congress recently.

We all should thank him for doing that.

Young man, please thank your grandfather for his service in the forgotten war to the greatful people of our nation.

That poor kid. I wanted to run up to him and cover his ears or something. No, Pop pop is not going to off himself. He's a great man who did a wonderful thing for our nation and we are greatful.

to 9:40 au contraire, Kratovil is for the bill on the first go around. He's not stopped anything from the OBamacare steamroller machine. I think you are mistaken.
He portrays himself as a blue dog democrat, but he is anything but. He is so far up nancy pelosi's backside, it will take 3 days just to catch his breath after exiting!
He has consistently taken his marching orders from the speaker- He's not stopped anything-we need to stop him and make him a 1 term congressman

My stepson is taking his physical for the USMC today. I was more than offended by Kratovils remarks. He used this young man for a photo op and his own agenda instead of answering the young man's question. At the very least, we should appreciate our military, for without them, we have none of the freedoms we currently enjoy.

Great answer Frank. NOT!!! Now every kid that has a parent deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan is going to not only wonder will their loved one make it home alive, now they have to worry if they will commit suicide or not.

Way to go, dumbass.

As usual, the politician never answered this young man's question.

All politics aside, Kratovil's statement to the young boy is simple Despicable!

that man was unravelling big time yesterday. Maybe they gave him some seditive for today QA County meeting...

We should encourage soldiers to question their orders. They swear to defend the Constitution, not the political/economic interests of the rich.

The military certainly want to do the right thing. They intend to do the right thing. I fear the Leadership is the problem.

Shame on you all, I am a Kratovil supporter and a veteran of the US Army. You say that the Congressman used that child for a photo op, What are you people doing. You are all just using this kid to attack a man who is working for you.

That young man wanted to ask the question. I listened to him speak to a few peopel in the hallway waiting to get in. That young man is intelligent, has his own thoughts and feelings questions and deserved an answer to his question? Kratovil was the only one to bring up suicides. I am positive my wife, who is a former Marine, and my brother-in-law, who is about to retire from the Marines, would not have been pleased with Kratovils answer.

11:41 Let me ask you something..Do you feel that Kratovil answered the question appropriately? Regardless of what everyone else is on here saying, I really would like to know if you honestly deep down feel that he answered that question appropriately.

11:41 is thta you Kevin?

I am also a veteran of teh US Armed Forces and you people need to wake up!! the Congressman was merely trying to call attention to the plight of veterans in this country who are killing themselves and need mental health counseling. You are all part of the problem because you wrap yourself in the flag and make it impossible for veterans to talk about the real problems they are having.

As a veteran I am deeply offended at how this representative views military service and personel.

Are you implying that the kid was a set-up???? Is That How You Kratovil Staff Wanna Spin This, that a little boy, who was proud of his grand-pa's service, Tricked your trial attorney into saying that outrgeous statement?
I tell you I don't know what's more insulting, what Kratovil said or your pathetic attempt to spin it. Loosers.

No, I don't think Kratovil answered this young man's question! As the daughter and spouse of retired military men I am deeply offended by this non-answer. I and my husband are concerned with how the retired and veterans will recieve care under this ObaminationCare. No where have I been able to get answers to questions similar to the young man's or specifics or details of the plan. Only Political rhetoric. Kratovil's non-answer just goes to show that there are no provisions in the plan for our military veterans and retirees.

12:03
Had Kratovil answered the young man's question before going into his inappropruate response it may have been better received and accepted as an attempt to highlight the plight of our veterans who are in need of services, mental health or physical health. As it is, he sidestepped the question for his own political agenda.

My fiancee is a veteran. Funny thing is he was going to counseling and then Obama yanked the funding.

My older brother is a veterinarian, and yes, he does need counseling, but not because of that!

I dont think any service person that has served in a frontal combat zone should ever have to pay income taxes again, ever.

It's hard to believe that he would say something so morbid to a child. It's sickening.

The kid's grandfather will be receiving socialized medicine. So, you all are now FOR socialized medicine, or against it? I'm so confused. You are FOR socialized medicine for the military and old people, but not for anyone else, right? Let's just be clear.

Anonymous said...

The kid is scared they will refer him to end of life counseling and pain pills, is that what you were looking for 3:13PM- Medicare is not socialized medicine yet. These people have also paid into this screwed up system. Socialized medicine will be when we all fall under the gov't direction and under universal health. Everyone should pay their own way and prioritize their own spending-not wait for the gov't to take care of them.

I don't think the guy meant any disrespect for military, but his ramblings proves that
1- He doesn't have the answer.
2- He can't take the pressure very well.

Did Congressman Kratovil even pay attention to this child’s question?

It seems to me that this is typical of our elected representatives............

Congress only hears what they want and Congress only does what they want.

It's a shame that the Congress and Senate do not have a higher suicide rate.

For those that don't know, this is the paid off tool that helped pass the bill. After failing to pass the first time 29 to 30, Waxman had a talk with this tool, pulled some sort of tricky bs, they had to vote again, 30 to 29, bill passes. This man was the vote that passed the bill. Wonder what changed his mind????
