CBSNEWS anchorwoman and 60 MINUTES contributor Katie Couric faces a dramatic pay cut at the network, insiders tell the DRUDGE REPORT.
CBS boss Les Moonves is determined to save money and trim expenses -- from top to bottom -- at the former crown jewel of broadcasting.
Couric, the highest paid TV news personality in history, commands over $14 million a year, plus bumps for non-EVENING NEWS appearances.
But her salary is now in the direct line of fire, network insiders explain, and a populist backlash against Couric's cash is said to be forming inside the newsroom.
"She makes enough to pay 200 news reporters $75,000 a year!" demands a veteran producer. "It's complete insanity."

Couric is not worth $75,000 a year, or even $25,000 a year.
She should go to fox
Any TV personality is not worth what they are paid. Nor are the Hollywood elite. Nor are the sports players. Nor are the investment bankers. Everyone needs to get a grip.
That is complete insanity - no way she should be making that much money - not any better than anyone else delivering the slanted news that she does. Fox is the only one to listen to anyway.
11:48 and 11:54, where do you get off telling someone what they deserve to get paid? Wonder why athletes get paid so much? Because an owner will make 3X as much after he fills the stadium with season ticket holders, collects broadcasting fees from CBS, and merchandise royalties. The "Hollywood Elite" will pack you and your family into the box office with every movie which makes a ton of money for the producers. And Couric seems to keep a large segment of the population tuned in to watch commercials occasionally interrupted by the news. It's called capitalism son. Get on board or keep it moving.
The Chen Broadcasting Network has been going through some distasteful changes since she bred. So bad that Russ split.
Now that people are aware that they were being lied too by the MSM people are getting their news else where .
