Congrats go out to Doug Taylor. I do not know him nor have I ever heard of him but he has a really plain name and this tells me that he is going to be a really great Administrator. Yay for Doug Taylor.

good ol' boys win again. let me guess it was Charles Fisher, Jerry Boston and Rex Simpkins who were for. Some things will never change.

Doug Taylor is by far the best qualified candidate. Who did the others want?

I do know Doug. The most qualified man for the job. He will have the best interest of the county first. He has served the county well in all his previous duties. Good luck and congratulations

Rex Simpkins cast the deciding vote in favor of his cousin, Doug Taylor, for the job. Nepotism is alive and well!

Randy Laird and Craig Mathies both said that there were more qualified candidates for the job. They were the two votes against.

Doug Taylor has no college degree. His last job before the county was being a guard at ECI. Now he is running a $36 million government with 244 employees and earning almost $100,000 a year to do so.

Lets not forget Doug is also related to Jerry Boston and Jerry worked for him at County Roads for years the two commissioners who voted againist him do not stand a chance to help anyone they will always be out voted due to the mafia family connection Charles Fisher has forgot what the Simpkins's did to him whne he ran againist Rex and losted I can only hope one day things will change but I DON'T THINK i will live long enough

Perhaps Craig and Randy should have applied for the job.. Now, we will never, never know. Too bad!!

I spent my working career in Somerset County (I didn't live there, thank goodness). It seems that almost everybody is related to everybody else. There is definitely a "I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine" mentality. Very few "come-heres" are welcome in Somerset. It was that way when I worked there, and apparently things haven't changed.
