President Obama called on Republicans Wednesday to drop their opposition to tax increases, saying "everybody else" is sacrificing their "sacred cows" for deficit reduction, GOP lawmakers should be willing to do the same.
The president also warned that Washington will soon run up against a "hard deadline" to strike a budget deal and raise the debt ceiling, rejecting suggestions that the situation is not as dire as the Treasury Department makes it out to be.
Though some Republicans claim the Aug. 2 deadline -- the date when Treasury warns the U.S. will face default if the cap is not raised -- is not firm, Obama warned that it is a serious deadline and that failing to raise the cap could cause investors to pull out of the U.S., leading Treasury to raise interest rates.

when the pres, vp, & congress take serious pay cuts and NO RAISES for the next ten years, use the same health care everyone else uses, gets on track with payments in to Social Security, finds a more efficent way for the government to buy the supplies needed for day-to-day needs, rather than paying three or four times more than everyone else, then maybe tax hikes could be talked about!! Sorry for the long, run on sentence. There is a lot the average taxpayer is not aware of that could be done to help keeps costs way down.

They are all corrupt it's just this one is has a trump card to get away with it in plain site. The people in congress are scared to death of the race card. This man would have already been impeached if he were a white republican.
Any educated person in this country know this Presidant is toast at the next election.
You can fool some of the people some of the time, but the country is wise to your lies and deceit Mr. Obama!
