My daughter is afraid to send the video to school officials because she says they will suspend her for having this video of a fight.
I know why they attacked her. My daughter (white, 4.3gpa) was confronted by the same girls earlier in the week. The girl being attacked is the sweetest, nicest kid you'll meet.
They were targeted because of their race. Plain and simple.
I, for one, am so tired of this reverse discrimination BS and the fear that these blacks instill into my INNOCENT white child.

The problem is if they fight back they get suspended or worse. How sad is it that a girl who would get in trouble for turning in this video to authorities. Other kids can't even come to the aid of the person being attack because they too would face a harsh punishment for doing the right thing.

I dont really care if my kids get suspended for taking uo for theirself or fighting back. 5 kids jump one of them. 25 are coming to counter. In there neighborhoods. Where their grandmothers sleep. Sometimes you need more than honey to catch bees.
Parkside High School is a powder keg ready to explode. My 17 year old son tells me the white students are always looking over their shoulders anticipating you'll be jumped and beaten up by gangs of blacks. The blacks know they rule that school by intimidation and are fully aware they are immune to any disciplinary action.

If the girl had to go to the Emergency Room, wouldn't the Doctor have to report the incident? If a toddler shows up with unusual injuries, the police are notified as well as social services. The same if a woman shows up with injuries that could be domestic abuse. I may be wrong but just I just wanted to ask.

I just made the same comment before reading this so it is true so it is obvious others knew the same thing. Every person this was reported to needs to be fired.
I wonder if this will be publicized, the punishment for those involved in the attack, like the JMB prom incident was publicized on their website page.
I've been sitting here thinking about this crime . What would I do if it were my daughter or grand daughter. I really haven't come to a conclusion yet. These are some of the things if thought of : let the law take it's course , oh no , this is not an option . Let the school handle it , oh no , it will be swept under the rug. Just forget about it , oh no , that would be very difficult being a loving family member that could have died do to this engagement. I do come from a very large family which is all conservative republicans , we have settled 1 other similar incident years ago , I won't go there.

I truly can not understand what I watched. It is so jarring to see, then to hear the injuries the child received.
I am typically not the type of person that would sue, but damn it, if this happened to my child in a public school, I would have no problem suing the crap out of everyone involved. If this were my child, I would make sure I went to every news station and told the story. I would make sure everyone knew exactly what happened, there would be no sweeping it under that giant WCBOE rug. I would name names and publicly shame each adult who did not help my child.
The county needs an "ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL" for those students who wish to follow the school rules and get their free appropriate public education that is guaranteed to them by law. If the kids break the rules they have to go back to the regular schools. Rules would be absolutely no cussing in the building. No disrupting classes or disrespecting teachers. Cell phones must be off and in the lockers. No headphones on or seen. Of course, no fighting. Follow a dress code. Must do class work, homework and have passing grades. This way, kids that want to be in school to learn can do that without the rest of the crap that they have to deal with. If you screw up, you are out to the home school. The decision to go to this county run school would be up to parents and student and they would have to sign the agreed upon rules to go there. Admission would not be dependant upon race or gender. One middle school and one high school like this would be willing! Someone please tell me why we can't do this in this county???
Parkside has a resource officer in the building but his hands are full with the thugs there. Administrators at Parkside are soft and scared of these kids so they turn and look the other way in many cases. The real problem with the administration is they are not paying attention to the surroundings at all, they are warned ahead of time and choose to ignore the warnings until it escalates into a problem they cannot control. Most if not all of the problems with kids in School start at HOME they are taught to fight and start fights from their own family. The administrators know the target problem makers early on in most cases but are so afraid of making them toe the line they choose to ignore them hoping the problem will disappear.
Until the school administrators start doing the right thing and punishing these thugs with real consequences the problems are only going to get worse. Parkside High School has some really great teachers that care about our children attending there but unfortunately those teachers do not have the support from the administration they need. If the administration has no BACK BONE to back up the teacher then you end up with unmanageable punk thugs beating on the rest of the student base.
If what @8:28 said is true then the parents of the hurt girl should sue the pants off the school, the BOE, and EVERY administrator that was told. I have been in the office to talk to administrators about all this BS and they just nod and smile and DO NOTHING. This is BS! They better be damn glad it was not my child. Heads would roll. There is a gaggle of them hood rats that live in a house on E Church St. They taunt other children across the street. We can hear them screaming "Hey China you gonna fight Francesca?" Bla Bla Bla. That takes up the majority of the evening. There are 2 of them that are outright bullies. Its rather disturbing and disgusting. Then they beat each other up

This is in the 1000-1100 block and also happens when school lets out. There is often a ruckus where one black is bullying and assaulting another black child.

I strongly suggest that the mother who sent in this video remove her daughter from Parkside as soon as possible. The Salisbury schools are not safe and are not a great learning environment. If you think I am wrong about the learning environment, then check out the number of high school level english and mathematics courses that are offered at WWCC in an effort to bring Wicomico County school graduates up to a college level.

There have been 10+ fights at Parkside in the last 2 weeks. Most have been black girls fighting each other. The one in this video was the worst. The kids seem so andry.

Just an FYI... Teachers are being taken out of the classrooms to act as principals so the principal's can take days off.
The situation in the schools has gotten totally out of hand. And it appears that law enforcement is not doing their jobs. Enforce. Why have there still been no charges pressed against the students who killed the girl in Wilmington a couple of weeks ago. There was video of that fight also. It can't take "weeks" to gather evidence when there are several videos of the fight. Just watch the video and press charges. Simple. The couple of articles I read said, "There were several more girls that jumped into the fight causing the victim to hit her head. That reads as though it is the victims fault that her head got slammed into a sink. No! Several girls jumped into a fight against one poor girl and THEY slammed her head into a sink and she DIED! Do something about this stuff because it only going to get worse. Quit babying black students simply because they are black as they are taking full advantage of the situation.

My son was walking in the hall and got caught in this mob of kids. Apparently the resource officer sprayed mace into the air to get everyone to back off. Son was pushed into the lockers to try and avoid getting swept into the mob. (he's white). I was so pissed when I heard all this crap going on. Every single day I drop him off, I feel like I'm sending him into the lion's den. I shouldn't feel scared to send my child into an unsafe environment daily. Every victim of mob violence should be transferred to private school, and the public school system pays the bill. That will give them some incentive to be accountable.
In the 90s I had a child in Parkside and it was a powder keg at one point back then. I don't have any new answers except what white people have done in the past. It was known as "White Flight". When places become so dangerous and intolerable they were forced to walk away before they got hurt or killed. I am pushing 70 and I have seen social programs come and go and none have worked. I am thankful that I no longer have children in the Wicomico County schools and my grandchildren are in private schools. I held on but finally sold my home in the Salisbury city area. It is difficult to love your neighbor when they threaten you. I recently saw on 60 minutes a school that has wonderful results with a military type program where all of the student in the school had college offers. All the students are black. Why can't we produce the same results in mix racial situations?
I'm sure that there's an incident report filed by the school deputy with the county sheriff. If not, there needs to be. If the sheriff has the evidence, which is pretty obvious, and the witnesses (again, pretty obvious), then he'll present it to the state's attorney.
This isn't just some little high school hallway dust-up, a slap and hair-pulling event. This is a mob assault with serious injuries.
Parents, please contact your attorneys if you haven't already. There are going to be some well-deserved lawsuits here.

I graduated in 1978 and if a white kid got in a fight with a black he was on his own. White people walked away while the blacks attacked them with 4 or more thugs. Until the whites start ganging up on them it isn't going to stop. With the courts charging only whites with hate crimes I would suggest the whites start wearing hoods or masks.
Self defense training. Karate,Jiu Jitsu. Several dojo's in the area. Make the animals aware there are consequences.
It really is a sad day when school resource officers are even required to be on site.
It's a shame they apparently are not controlling the task assigned, for whatever reason.
Again, for whatever reason. It would be interesting to know. Is it the law is not on their side backing them. Is it lack of courage of being hurt or loose their pension. My kids played baseball at Fruitland Little League with a real nice black kid with Christian parents. His father worked at NASA and his mother was a nurse at PRMC. I asked him why he isn't playing baseball at Fruitland Little League or for Parkside High School and they said that he has changed and hangs out with only black kids. They say they expect him to start picking fights any day now by the way he talks to them. I am so disappointed in that boy because he had a lot of talent and I have no idea if his parents know how he is acting. This just goes to show you what kind of environment to expect at Parkside High School now. It used to not be like that.

They already have an alternative school for bad kids, mostly black, who are the worst kids in school. They love being their because they are among their kind and they don't have to do any work. It is nothing more than a glorified baby sitting service.
They did have a program in elementary school call the Magnet Program. There were 2 centers and John Fredericksen, Ron Willey and the Board of Education did away with the Magnet Center at Pemberton Elementary School because it was mostly smart white kids. They called it a private school within a public school, but they were the smartest kids. They kept changing the criteria for accepting kids into the program so they could whittle it down to nothing. They wanted the Title 1 money they could get from the Feds if they made it a Title 1 school. Ron Willey said he would never support losing the Title 1 money for a Magnet Center. They are doing away with the Gate Program in the Middle Schools because there aren't enough black thugs in the program.
There is nothing in the high schools for the smart kids that do well. That is why they have so many problems in the schools with the blacks because they mingle with the smarter white kids.
Why do you think Parkside, Bennett and Wicomico High Schools are in the City of Salisbury? Because the BOE has had the same mentality for the last 50 years. No community schools outside the city limits because it would be mostly white kids and they would have failing inner city schools in Salisbury. DUH! You white people are so naive and dumb!!

Simple answer here...to all parents who have kids that are truly afraid to go to school...DON'T MAKE THEM GO!!!
If the schools start seeing 100s of kids not attending they will be forced to go after us, the parents. It is illegal for us to keep them from getting a proper education. So when we all get pulled into court maybe 100 or so parents will get someone's attention. If I had a child going there my rule for them would be they hAve my permission to leave school anytime they feel unsafe. Start overwhelming the administration...maybe they will start doing something about it.

The worst thing they did was close the high school in Pittsville. They tried to diversify pittsville during the last attempt to redistrict.
Incidentally, you mentioned Wihi. I have been in the school several times in the last 3 weeks. Not one time did I witness anything like this, or even near this. I expected something like bloods vs crypts the way people speak down about Wihi. I was pleasantly surprised.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. John Fredericksen and the Wicomico County Board of Education are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Micah Stauffer as Director of Secondary Education, effective immediately.
Mr. Stauffer was promoted to the position of Director of Secondary Education at a special Board of Education meeting Friday, July 25. Since 2009, he had served as principal of Parkside High School.

Stop beating up on teachers! We're trying desperately to change things every day. But teachers -- and administrators -- get little to no support from the Board. Since the Department of Justice came here a few years ago and said the system is racist because of so many Black students being suspended, we seldom suspend Black students. My school has dozens of kids (mostly Black but not totally) with over 10 disciplinary referrals. Many have over 20! Yet they are free to roam the halls, evade staff, get up and leave the classroom whenever they want. Some are actually given passes that allow them to leave class whenever they feel "stressed". Get into the schools so you know firsthand what's happening. Then show up at Board meetings in mass. Make a stand. Don't criticize... organize!
Salisbury is becoming not a such a great place to raise kids anymore. Sad because it used to be a great place to live until Liberals ruined it.

This is 100% with the exception of a pending law suit at Parkside. I know the school board has many law suits against John Fredericksen, but the law suit has nothing to do with referrals. The Disproportionate is with blacks is a fact so their idea is that if you ignore their crimes it won't appear as black thugs creating problems. This is coming down from the Obama Administration. Reduce black referrals and receive more federal funding.

More than 10 fights, mace, a knife, and a gun in the past two weeks. This is the first time in over 20 years of teaching I have felt unsafe. My husband is telling me to quit. Money is very tight, but he said we'll find a way to make it work. I love teaching, but I can't teach in this environment. This is breaking my heart.

I am a teacher at parkside and it is out of control. There were at least 5 fights this week as far as i know and they all involved girls. The poor girl that got jumped was asking for help for a couple of days. Teachers were walking her to class while the counselors and administration were nowhere to be seen. The girl that jumped her had just come back from alternative school and wanted to go back. She was not the sweetest, she was a nasty person. She was looking to fight anyone for any reason to go back and the administration knew this and still did nothing. I am sick to my stomach about the incompetence of the people running things. Please call and put pressure on the board of ed and the administration to actualy get rid of these worthless kids. Another poster was correct, many of them have already failed for the year and they should be sent home and let their parents deal with them instead of letting them run around causing havoc in the hallways. And mace was used in the second Friday fight. Scared a lot of good kids.

The schools are out of control here in Wicomico. The White Out sounds like an interesting solution but will it really send a message? Taking kids out of school and placing them in private schools would be a better answer because the School Board is driven by numbers. If they have a drop in enrollment, that's when the real pressure will result because it also means a drop in Federal money. I know times are tight but your child's life is priceless compared to any private school tuition.

One child was told by a teacher that he didn't have to work because the government was going to take care of him. This isn't what I've taught my child and wouldn't want this teacher teaching at the private school my kids attend.
There are bullies in private school, too, but they're disciplined immediately without any hesitation. The private schools usually embrace middle America standards for acceptable behavior while the public system is just a place to park your kids while you're at work. I feel for you, being a teacher there. And from what I have heard, it is only getting worse. My daughter went there years ago, and it was bad enough then. A large black male kept sexually harassing her, shoving her up against the wall and grinding on her. She told him to stop and tried to avoid him in the halls, to no avail. Finally she told the principal who said the kid had a promising career in basketball ahead of him, he "might" even get a basketball scholarship, so did she really want to ruin that for him by pressing the issue? So the matter was dropped, and then she had to endure him and his friends threatening her and making sexual grunts and comments and gestures toward her.
She quit school before the end of the year, just couldn't handle it anymore, knowing the administration wouldn't back her. And our efforts to have the situation properly handled went ignored or politely deferred.
She walked out of that black hellhole, took her GED and scored in the 99th percentile.

Ok folks, here's the deal. The feds say too many AA's are in prison. A large majority of thosee in prison have no high school diploma. Feds make the assumption that a diploma will keep people out of prison. So they are trying to force school systems to keep these kids in school and MAKE them successful. Only problem here is that the kids that are causing troubles do not want to be successful, they could care less about graduating. The feds know, and I agree with this part, that if the thugs have no education then they are more likely to end up being supported by social services and programs. The problem here is that you can lead a horse to water but that don't make them drink. Parents want the kids to be in school because they only get welfare money for the kid if they are in school. The only solution I see is tying our public education system to money. Kids misbehave or don't make the grade, parents don't get the welfare money or no tax refund. Hell, give a 10,000 dollar deduction if your kid passes and is not a behavior issue. We also need to stand up to the feds and bring back a strong alternative school where the kids do not come back to the home school for the remainder of the year. Finally, we need schools/ private programs where we will pay for students to attend when they do not straighten up at the alternative school.

1) Everyone on this site talking about going to the PTA meeting at Parkside you are wasting your time. Parkside administration is part of the problem from the principal on down to both vice principal's. I have been in to talk to "administration" about all the BS going on at school. Obviously nothing is being done and it was a waste of my time. But how many others on here commenting have done this?
2) If you are going to have a "white out" I'm all in. But be smart about it. If we are going to keep our kids out of school for a "white out" let's take it to the BOE. THEY are a LARGE part of the problem. School administration gets any backlash from parents but the Board gets to sit behind their little monthly meetings. 4) I have a child that attends Parkside. He has a 4.1 GPA and is taking all AP classes. He is a good kid and should not have to be concerned about his safety at school. Nor should I. And lets be clear. I will be damned if I make him change schools because administration cannot control all the thugs in school. HE earned the right to attend this school and graduate with all the friends he has made over the last 3 years. That is not fair to him or others that are attending school to "learn" not cause havoc. I know some of you are on here reading so I have this to say to you. You suck at your jobs! If it is true that the girl on Friday asked for help and received nothing from administration I hope EACH and EVERYONE of you is sued by the girls parents. YOU deserve to be. If it had been my son...that would be the least of your problems!
My daughter attends JMB. However; she also attends Criminal Justice held at Parkside. She had been harrassed, teased and "picked on" all year by a girl while at Parkside on a daily basis. She reported it, numerous times. It was reported to teachers as well as office administrators. The other student was even told she could no longer go back to the area my daughter is. After a while, she was permitted back to that area "as long as she agreed to be respectful". That didnt last. A few weeks ago, my daughter (who has never been in trouble and holds above a 3.0 GPA) had enough. The girl approached her again running her mouth and boldly said "you will never do anything about it". Well, on that day, she was wrong. My daughter punched her in the face, and a short term fight took place. My daughter was suspended, as well as the other student. She was denied attending after school activities for 10 days and forbidden from attending her Senior Prom, while the other young female will still get to attend hers. I appealed this on as many levels as possible, had confrences and wrote emails. It did me no good. My daughter was likely wrong for hitting first. But I teach my kids to stand up for themselves and I was damn proud of her for doing so after all other options had been exhausted. The other student has not messed with her since.
Something really bad will have to happen, to get the lazy white parents off their butts to protect their kids.

PHS and WCBOE should be sued by the child's parent(s). This is uncalled for in an area where kids are supposed to be safe. What lawyer is going to man/woman up and help this family? Sure it's a pro bono or contingency fee deal, but as officers of the court, you're obligated to make sure people are put whole again after incidents such as these.
This would have been dealt with Immediately if this had happened in the Baltimore suburbs where I grew up.
The problem with the Eastern Shore schools is that the administrators are too cowardly. Perhaps the ones at Parkside are afraid of the blacks? Most likely afraid that the black thugs will beat them up.

There was a really bad fight Friday at Wi Hi a teacher was injured now that did make the news. Don't think that is just one school all three High School are very dysfunctional. There are stories of the elementary school also. I do think that the administration is not handling this at all. But I do believe that the justice department has there hands tied. If anyone should get sued it should be the justice department.
Guess what the sheriff has guide lines in the schools and how can one officer be to every fight you need one in every hallway are you willing to have your tax dollars pay for that . The students make a circle around the two fighting you cant get to them until someone is already hurt. The students are afraid the staff is afraid the administration is afraid they have the support. That being said i have heard that if you cant function in the school they make a position for you at the board.
There is a solution to all of this. Parents have to be willing to make the sacrifice for their children in order for it to be effective. DO NOT send your children to school. Set up a homeschooling program and educate them at home or form a co-op among parents that have an area of expertise. The schools rely on attendance for federal funding. No students, no funding. Hit the BOE where it really hurts them most, in the wallet. Money is the only thing these lazy union members understand, it's what turns their world. This is another reason, of many, why they do not suspend or expel disruptive students. Hit them where it hurts most. In the meantime, file a class action lawsuit for failure to provide a safe environment for your children. If it makes national news, that makes it even better for all concerned parents. Stop reacting to these incidents and start doing something about it. Otherwise, it will become progressively worse.
After reading all these comments I am amazed at the racism, ignorance and lack of information about all these different school issues but I guess I shouldn't be. A white out, really? So let's show white pride because there are a number of students who are causing problems. IT IS NOT ALL black students in the school. The students involved should absolutely be punished to the full extent but to make it a complete black and white issue is just as ignorant as black students not being able to be suspended. This only makes the problem worse. Go about things the right and respectful way or you are just as bad as those doing wrong. I am a white teacher at one of the schools mentioned in the last couple of weeks. The majority of ALL the students are not thugs as some seem to think.

Everyone needs to call Parkside 410-677-5143 and demand they do something bout this and all that bullying going on there. Mike Lewis needs to investigate the video and expel all involved. Our kids need to feel safe when going to school.
They should fire the all the principal's at Bennett and Parkside. To many incidents to close together. Seems they are in the news weekly. Schools are out of control. Your kid hits my daughter I'm gonna hit you for not teaching your kid self discipline and respect for others.
How did the PTA meeting go last night? Was any of the concerns addressed?

Considering I am educating the students and trying to help ALL students succeed I am not part of the problem. What you are saying is that all black students should be punished for what some do. That is just as ridiculous as your post. Again, if you read my post and could comprehend what I said you would understand that I totally agree with he students being involved being punished to the full extent. You imply all black students are thugs and should be punished. That is ignorance.

Response: Don't really know why you're amazed at racism. Sounds a bit daft to me to even speak of it in any way as being funny. For starters it's a growing problem when incidents like this promote racism. Sure America has had racists, that's indisputable, but racism has hit a new high in modern society due to people like the thugs that beat that white girl up while she was at school. Racism grows when there is race violence. To say this your sarcasm only instigate its furtherance rather than helping to be a part of a solution. If you find it so amazing, then laugh to yourself. Somehow if it were your daughter, niece, granddaughter or any other female in your family who was beaten up by a gang of blacks, I don't think you'd find it so amusing anymore.

Question: Is the video itself not proof of racism? Did you not watch what I just watched? So instead of suggesting how we could alleviate this issue, you instead think it is more appropriate to accost commenters about their remarks? How about the fact this child was attacked because she is white? Plain and simple. Clearly, you're not understanding the situation. It has been confirmed by several people that it was a lone white girl attacked by one or more black girls. What is your problem? Did someone drop you on your head as a child that you can't understand this stupid simple concept or what? Sounds to me, you're just trying to keep ginning up unrest like most liberals love to do.
