The Delaware State Police Promotes 13 Troopers

On Tuesday, October 20th, 2009, Colonel Robert M. Coupe, Superintendent of the Delaware State Police, was joined by Governor Jack Markell, Lt. Governor Matt Denn, Attorney General Joseph R. Biden III, and Secretary of Safety and Homeland Security Lewis D. Schiliro to recognize the newly promoted Troopers.

Seven Troopers were promoted from the rank of Corporal to Sergeant and six were promoted from the rank of Sergeant to Lieutenant. The promotions were effective on various dates during the month of October.

Among the remarks made at the ceremony, Colonel Coupe, urged the newly promoted Troopers to build relationships based on trust and communication, citing that when one aspect is disregarded both, trust and communication is lost. In addition, the Colonel urged the group to “adhere to one principle and that is to always do the right thing.”
