WICOMICO RECEIVES STATE GRANT FUNDING TO ASSIST BUYERS OF FORECLOSED PROPERTIES AND FOR HOUSING REHAB
Wicomico County Executive Richard M. Pollitt, Jr. announced today that the county has received $407,928 in grant monies from the Neighborhood Conservation Initiative. The funds are for buyers of foreclosed properties to make down payments, cover closing costs and perform necessary repairs. Interested parties should contact Cheryl Meadows of Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc., at 410-543-4626.
Mr. Pollitt also announced that the county has received $256,775 in grant funds from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DCHD). Mr. Pollitt explained that, “These funds will assist in rehabilitating housing for low and moderate income families and to also make renovations to the building owned and operated by the Maryland Food Bank.” To apply for the housing rehabilitation funding, interested parties should contact Lori Carter, Deputy Director of the Wicomico County Department of Planning and Zoning at 410-548-4860.

Another 664,703 of our tax money to hand out for free rides. The country is bankrupt and the government is still doing the same old thing. It is insane! Maybe the taxpayers (ie-the slaves) would be better served if they put this money towards the national debt that is costing 500 million a day in interest. I know it's a drop in the bucket, but how many other drops are being spilled nationwide? If we don't throw these irresponsible bastards out of office, we are done (if not already).
The things wont go better if the government still act that way. Other measures have to be taken
