BOWIE, Md. - For most kids, the last day of school is filled with excitement. For one Bowie High school student, it was an ugly end to the school year.
A student was jumped, beaten, and had his iPod and backpack stolen. His father, who did not want his name used to protect his son, told WTOP the incident was videotaped and posted on Facebook. He shared that video with WTOP.

They should be in an animal reserve not a high school .
I went to that high school about 15 years ago. It was bad then, worse now. The bussing program (bussing in kids from right outside the DC line) is what was the big problem when I was there. Looks like it got worse since.
I was there in 1978, 79 & 80. I have to agree with you 100%. It was bad then but it seems to be much worse now.

And not a dam thing will happen to them. In fact, he probably ate snow crab legs with his food stamps later on that evening.
I guess they figured nothing will be done to them since its the last day of school. They should be made to cut the grass at the school each and every week while school is out for the summer.
Until we make life uncomfortable for these thugs they will continue to do the same thing over and over.

A lot of my family has gone to Bowie High and theres violence like this all the time there. A while ago, i heard someone got there face ripped open with a stiletto high heel. It's not the city of Bowie who is to blame, it's the county of Prince George's..
Blame the culture we live in . Anything goes and no one is held accountable .

I didn't know that. One can only hope those who viewed it got to see the reality of it. I'm sure it's now considered evidence for a criminal case.
I graduated from Bowie High 25 years ago. It wasnt that bad back then. Princpal John Hagan (RIP) and VP Jinar didnt tolerate crap like that. Cant believe it has got that bad. Guess I can with the busing in of the outer fringe students in PG after I left and the closing of some of the HS in the bad areas .
My nephew just graduated this year. Glad he made it out alive.

I was attacked by one person my senior year. I really wish it were recorded because I know damn well my family had the funds to put the attacker in the poor house. I really feel for this family.
