Burglary Arrest

Accused: #1 - Jacob Tyler Derr (DOB 01/25/1991) Snow Hill, MD
Accused: # 2 Juvenile (17 yoa) from Pittsville, MD.
Charges: First Degree Burglary, Third Degree Burglary, Fourth Degree Burglary, Theft under $1000.00, MDOP under $500.00


Narrative: On the above listed dates, the suspect Jacob Tyler Derr and a juvenile (17 yoa) from Pittsville committed two burglaries in the Girdletree area. The burglaries included a residence owned by Chase Bank. Also entered were seven (7) fishing boats located at the Girdletree boat docks on Taylor Landing Road.

Stolen from the residence were approximately fifteen to twenty feet of copper tubing. Stolen from the boats were seven (7) portable gas tanks filled with gasoline. The copper tubing and gas were valued under $1000.00 in each case. Investigation led detectives to Wicomico County, where both suspects tried to sell the copper tubing at Delmarva Recycling. Jacob Derr has admitted to the offenses, while the juvenile has been charged through juvenile services, awaiting trial.
