STATEMENT FROM GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY

ANNAPOLIS, MD –Governor Martin O’Malley issued this statement following the announcement that Northrop Grumman will relocate its corporate headquarters from California to Virginia following a months-long search.

“Northrop Grumman’s decision today is a win for the entire Greater Washington region, and I want to congratulate the State of Virginia. Maryland has one the most highly-skilled workforces in the country, and already employs more than 20,000 skilled Northup Grumman and Lockheed Martin employees. With today’s announcement the region will not only gain new corporate-level jobs, but a number of the company’s key subcontractors and suppliers. I want to thank the members of our Congressional Delegation, business leaders and legislative and county partners, who played an integral role in our efforts to attract this company to Maryland.”
