State Police Searching For Missing Person At The Indian River Inlet Bridge

Location: Indian River Inlet Bridge, South of Dewey Beach, Sussex County, DE
Date of Occurrence: Tuesday April 27, 2010 at 0900 hours
Missing Person: Joel Thompson, 48, Lewes,
White male, 5’08”, 161 lbs

Delaware State Police along with the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control Marine Unit and the U.S. Cost Guard are currently searching for a missing person.

Thompson had left his home last night to fish off the bulkheads at the base of the Indian River Inlet Bridge. When he didn’t return home this morning family members call state police.

Troopers found Thompson’s Toyota Tacoma pickup truck parked in the parking lot at the bridge. He was last seen when he left his home last evening at 11 p.m.

A search is currently under way.
