Farming The Old Fashioned Way

For days now I have watched this Gentleman and his Family farming a small piece of land on Rockawalkin Road. No horses, no tractors, just good old hand tilling and hard work. I can't wait to see what pops up with all that TLC.

They have been doing this for the last 4 years; they grow a few different crops.

They do this every year, it's a very large garden plot, not quite a farming operation. Wait until fall when you see his greens, absolutely beautiful. It appears when everything is near maturity they grow enough to feed themselves. Smart from many points of view. I know someone else that grows all their own veggies.

We all should take note as we may need to revert back to the old days of survival. I'm sure the government will come up with a reason to tax our gardens and not allow us to keep the fish we catch.

My mom lives out that way and they plant some beautiful greens from what I remember. mmmmmm, little fat back and some vinegar.....yum! they work very hard in their garden, we should all take a lesson in self-sustaining options like this! I know we do as much as we can and it feels good to make homemade strawberry icecream with our own sweet (free) berries!!!
