His perception is very accurate. In fact, many believe this attitude of "white guilt" of which this preacher speaks went along way in electing our current, inexperienced and possibly unqualified president. He is truly courageous and candid. God Bless him and his ministry!
His remarks are very accurate. The sacrifices that have been made by white people from the Civil War to the southern marches have been tremendous. The commitment to correct injustices and provide equal rights for all, has left hundreds of thousands of white people dead. Whether we are black or white, we must continue to be viligent in routing out discrimination, regardless of its source, because it comes in all sizes, shapes, and colors.
Surely, as a nation we can be proud of what we have accomplished to right the wrong of discrimination. I for one will follow the advice of this preacher, although I know it is going to take some courage.
apart of attorney general Holder's message of america as a nation of "cowards" was in reference to this preacher's sentiments; we all should be able to say what we want to say and discuss these things in an open manner. Down south we usually have good race relations. Racist white/black folk make their sentiments clear and we stay away from each other. Everybody else that is cool, we mingle, have a good time together when we can. Other times, you enjoy your party over there and I will enjoy mine over here.
I am in disagreement about this guys generlizations about "all" black folk feeling this and that. I've said it before to people, MOST black folk are just like white folk. We are concerned with raising our children, making a living, and doing positive things for ourselves and our community which means we are usually only worried about 1 color; Green (money)
Voicing your disagreement with someone black regarding a race issue does not mean we are ready to become violent or agressive toward you. We may find ourselves more apt to have productive conversations on this subject if you drop this premise that we cannot have an intellectual conversation regarding these issues with you. In short, stop being Pu$$!es about it; I agree with the Rev.'s sentiments on that point.
that guy is awesome! not all blacks think that way but alot of them do. i dont owe anybody nothing and he knows it and accepts it to work hard and be good peoples..
So you say but this has been the white experience with African Americans but I am glad to see people like the rev and you take this approach the media seems to hide intelligent black people from the public eye it's terrible.
While I agree with the overall premise, this guy reinforces a few racial stereotypes with his "70% statistics". The media does hide intelligent black people; it hurts our community by only showing black men as rappers and athletes. But it also hurts the white community by giving them a poor (false) image of life as an African American. Can we get an honest opinion; Do you think that African Americans have made significant contributions to American society?
Rev is on point. Believe you me the gap between educated blacks and uneducated blacks is much wider than the divide between blacks and whites. The biggest issues with whites and blacks are stereotypes!! It always has been and always will be. Once you get past the "unrealisitic expections" of someone from another race you find out that people really aren't that bad. As long as we keep the walls up, you will think what you think based off of poor images and we will think the same way.
12:17 I can agree with your point it's all about positive images like a parent to a child. but unfortunately the progressive movement doesn't provide healthy role models and are against two parent family's.These are the same people who own and run the mainstream media who put up pictures and stories to stereo type people.

Nice try JT, using a different name too. LMAO!
I like this pastor as it tells it just like it is. Chip off the shoulder, slavery off the sleeve - I'm going to remember that.

Never heard of this guy til now.
The problem with stereotypes, either black or white ones,is that sometimes they ARE true.
