ADVISORY LIFTED FOR POCOMOKE RIVER IN SNOW HILL VICINITY

As a result of recent sampling analysis that was conducted in response to the combined sanitary overflow (CSO) reported by the Town of Snow Hill, the Worcester County Department of Environmental Programs has lifted the public advisory that was issued on September 30.

The high volume of stream flow contributed to the rapid dilution of the combined stormwater- sewage overflow.

The public should still use caution when coming into contact with the river, as it is a natural waterbody, and potential hazards are present with the higher-than-normal streamflow and possible mobile debris within the river.

Which means, of course, that all of that sewage and debris is now in the Chesapeake Bay.
