A governor's task force on sustainable growth on Tuesday heard a proposal to double and eventually triple Maryland's annual water and sewer fee of $30 for Chesapeake Bay restoration. Because of funding shortfalls, the workgroup also recommended extending Maryland's timeframe to meet its bay cleanup goals to 2025, which is the Environmental Protection Agency's deadline, instead of the self-imposed deadline of 2020 that Gov. Martin O'Malley set last year.

Flush the Flush Tax!
Well Forget that...
I don't live close enough to the bay for me to worry about pollution...
the dirt in the ground helps clean the water... it is the storm-water inlets and manholes that cause this problem... This can easily be fixed...
We need to double or triple our efforts to flush these pieces of $#!T
I have several properties on the water that are subject to the flush tax even though they are not occupied full time. It irks me so much that I just go off the bulkhead as much as possible.
Now that the "leaders" whom we've elected, over and over again, despite their incompetency, thievery, blatant money grabbing, and total disregard for "we, the people", have spent every single dime they could find (and predict they would have IN THE FUTURE), they are going to SLAM us. Tax EVERYTHING in sight, raise the fees on every action and service we do and use and find Orwellian ways to fine us for things you haven't even THOUGHT of yet (but they have). Triple this, double that, it doesn't matter. You will still think that the next guy will be able to "fix things" or "change things". "Things" are waaaaay beyond fixable. At least in the economic and political sense. Maybe complain to the cop who stops you at the next roadblock, or the TSA at their next random citizen "check". Or the FBI or Homeland Security (that is, if you actually CATCH them in your house one day). Maybe voting will help. MUUUHAHAHAHA.
For once, this isn't O'Malley's making. He was very clear during his re-election that the Flush Tax should be blamed on Erhlich.
To Harvey - You are absolutely right.
Under Ehrlich we had
1. Highest state real property tax increase in Maryland's history.
2. Highest utility increase ever recorded - (72%)
3. Highest increases in titling and registration fees.
4. Highest increase in tag fees.
5. Ehrlich also signed onto the annual flush tax.
Need I say more?
To 7:31 Posting
Owe - but you must have forgotton -according to Ehrlich - a fee isn't a tax increase.
I say BS!
