A Pansie Of A Mayor

In just a few days the Downtown Plaza will reopen and I think you'll truly enjoy the end result. The brickwork is coming along nicely and the Mayor has asked Public Works to replace all of the plants in the planters as well as new mulch in the beds.

I have spoken to property owners as well as people walking through the Plaza on a daily basis and they all love the refreshed look.

The Mayor has chosen pansies for this season.

Go Mayor!

I wish they had not spent the money fixing the bricks. They need to rip up all of the brick work and replace it with an actual street. That way people will begin to use the street and the businesses in that area will gain some exposure.

Cut down the parking meters or at LEAST allow people to buy more than an hour's time! Having to run back to your car every 40 mins of shopping or eating is incredibly ridiculous!

So what. Can't imagine many people will notice. One would actually have to (horrors) go downtown. Most people have better things to do than tour small town urban decay - even when some repairs are made and pansies planted.

Not sure if you're being facetious, but Winter pansies are an appropriate planting for this time of the year as they weather the cold well and do not die off with a frost.

Point well taken Libra, no doubt that was a calculated expression taken at the Mayor....

Sure...they need to make the meters 6-hour meters so employees in the area can park at their front door all day, preventing shoppers from using the closest parking spaces. That has been one of the main reasons for the decline of the area.

There is plenty of parking there now. If people have to walk a little bit that is good. They get a little exercise. And there is always online shopping if walking is too much for anyone.
