Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

On August 10, 2011 at approximately 5:50 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police were in the area of Rt. 50 and E. Main Street and observed a vehicle that had left the roadway and was stuck on the concrete median. Officers made contact with the driver, who appeared to be intoxicated, and immediately observed a firearm in the front passenger area. The suspect was taken into custody and was also found in possession of two (2) knives and a canister of mace.

ARRESTED: Derek Lance Detzer, 39 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland
CHARGES: Driving while impaired by alcohol
Driving under the influence of alcohol
Possession of a dangerous weapon
DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On August 11, 2011 at approximately 8:07 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to Verizon on Mount Hermon Road for the report of subjects in the roadway. Upon arrival the officers found that the below listed two (2) suspects were sitting in the entrance to the employee parking lot for Verizon, prohibiting anyone from entering. The officers made numerous requests for the suspects to move but the requests were unsuccessful. The officers finally advised the suspects that failure to move from the entrance would lead to their arrest. This request was also unsuccessful and resulted in the arrest of both suspects. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Chance, Maryland
ARRESTED #2: Margaret Mary Young, 45 years of age
Delmar, Maryland
CHARGES (Both): Hindering free passage in a public place
Disorderly conduct
Failure to obey a lawful order

DISPOSITION: Both released to Central Booking

On August 11, 2011 at approximately 1:40 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Salisbury Zoo for the report of a disorderly person. Upon arrival the officers met with Zoo personnel who advised that the below listed suspect was loitering at the Zoo and was harassing Zoo patrons. The officers met with the suspect who was found to be intoxicated and still acting in a disorderly manner.

ARRESTED: Steven Brian Schoultz, 50 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland
CHARGES: Disorderly conduct
Public consumption of alcohol
DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

Everyone of them who are striking should be terminated immediately. There are many people unemployed at this time and they are never satisfied. Fire their overpaid unionized butts NOW!!!!
