In Wake Of Riots, British PM Proposes Social Media Ban

(CNN) -- British Prime Minister David Cameron thinks he's found some culprits to blame in the recent riots that have rocked London and other cities -- Facebook and Twitter.

Saying the "free flow of information" can sometimes be a problem, Cameron's government has summoned those two social-networking sites, as well as Research In Motion, makers of the BlackBerry, for a meeting to discuss their roles during the violent outbreaks.

Too funny. It's Facebook and Twitter's fault there is rampant unemployment, poverty and racial tensions in London.

The Free Flow of Information is dangerous to the Establishment, not the People.

8:51 Beat me to the punch. Did anyone THINK about that statement before he read it?? Facebook caused riots?? Another attempt to control what the citizens can read or hear. I suppose HIS alternative is a government approved website where you "register" to get "the truth" ---- THEIR version, that is.

I personally think what most people don't get is the fact that IF we were to unite against our Government as history has proven in the past, We The People could win. I'm NOT suggesting we do such a thing but if you think for a second the U.S. Government wouldn't do everything to stop ALL of us from coming together, your nuts.

The democrats would believe its for our own good. Republicans would support and back our rights under the Constitution. Maybe now you can see where we're headed under democrat leadership.

People should think long and hard about this and watch what happens. In this case however, I don't think its going to go far enough for them to have to shut down social media outlets.

They need to stop taking care of these people from cradle to grave so they will have some sense of responsibility.
