"You've damaged your own race," said Mayor Michael Nutter to the black youths of Philadelphia whose flash mobs have been beating and robbing shoppers in the fashionable district of downtown.
"Take those God-darn hoodies down," the mayor went on in his blistering lecture. "Pull your pants up and buy a belt, 'cause no one wants to see your underwear or the crack of your butt."
And the mayor had some advice for teenagers looking for work.
"You walk into somebody's office with your hair uncombed and a pick in the back and your shoes untied and your pants half down, tattoos up and down your arms and on your neck, and you wonder why somebody won't hire you?"

About time a black leader said what some of white people have known for a long time.
But white's are racist and I bet he will be labled an uncle Tom now. You can't keep hiding behind the race card forever.
Chaos is coming folks. We were warned but did not heed. Get a gun and go to a shooting range. You will need it shortly.
He will go the way of Bill Cosby, who had the guts to tell black people the same thing. Work for a living. Stop having babies you can't support by men who are in and out of prison. Stay in school. Stop looking like you are wearing clothes your big fat older brother gave you. How can you run from the police when your pants are around your knees? See what it got Bill? Ridicule. Can't get a job because you're black? WRONG. You can't get a job because you can't read or write above the third grade level and you dress and act like a thug. And your criminal record doesn't help either. Its a cultural issue that blacks MUST address, but will not. Whites elected a black president but somehow are still racist enough to keep the black unemployment rate at 17-20%?? Its lucky he wasn't robbed and killed during that speech.
I'd never hire somebody with their pants down and their hat on sideways. If you want to look like an a-hole then don't come looking for a job with me!
