Pet Peeve

Joe:

Please tell me I am missing the boat here!! Is there anyplace in Salisbury where a couple can go for a good  seafood dinner these days without paying an arm and a leg. Heck, I wouldn't even mind that if the seafood was good.  We usually go to Chincoteague for good dinners. Every  time we eat out in Salisbury, I always ask if the fish are fresh and the waiter usually says something like  "well at one time"! That is the clue! Of course, I love Market Street, and had the best swordfish ever. I cooked some  on the grill a few weeks ago that I got at  Martin Fish Co. in W. Ocean City . They have it all, but I do get tired of cooking and enjoy eating out (a lot) . It is sad we don't have a "Seafood Restaurant" like Bill's Seafood Inn which was "before you were born". LOL I can remember the trucks coming in from Ocean City about 11:00 in the morning unloading what they would be serving for dinner that day!!! A place to sit down and eat without a lot of hustle and just a relaxing atmosphere. Where are the entrepreneurs'. They need to get busy and open up a Seafood Bar if nothing else.  These restaurants here are a joke!

Stop the whinning , get a life , it's so sad salisbury doesn't meet your needs in the seafood area.
Sounds to me like you got real problems and it ain't seafood.
Some people in salisbury don't have anything to eat you idiot.

Salisbury, wont happen. Try the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel in Rehobeth beach De. The grilled seafood pasta and the broiled lobster tail are great. Sea scallops are right up there with them.

Sobos, Boonies and the Red Roost always have fresh fish on the menu, and it's excellent.

Amen, 4:05! You expressed my sentiments exactly. The writer wasn't really speaking derogatorily of Salisbury; rather, he was simply asking a question. Why do you have to go on the attack, 3:36. 4:05, I think that you're being too kind to say that MAYBE 3:36 is an idiot

A frsh seafood bar would be nice in Salisbury, but do you think the people will support it...come on, Salisbury has TWO super WalMarts!

Salisbury and Maryland's lack of business friendly policies drive good businesses away.....

"Wanting to eat in Salisbury",
I understand exactly what you are saying. During the "Off" season, my wife and I like the Harborside Restaraunt in West Ocean City. We also like the Lobster House in Cape May. You can sit and watch the seafood being unloaded from the boats. It makes for a nice day trip across the ferry.

The Shark is also good. Expect $5 lunch specials in the Winter. The Sunset Marina has some good winter specials too. The House of Welsh during the winter has some KILLER shrimp specials at the bar during happy hour in the Winter.

Patience, it won't be long.

In other words, to answer your question, there is no place in Salisbury to go for a nice seafood dinner.

The only seafood downtown is the food you see floating in the river. Market Street over priced, no free parking and Brew River is dirty and again, pay for parking.
