Mid-Atlantic Could Get Up To 28 Inches Of Snow

Stores run low on milk, bread and shovels as storm bears down

WASHINGTON
- Stores ran low on milk, bread and snow shovels and federal workers were sent home early Friday as the second major snow storm in less than two months bore down on a winter-weary Mid-Atlantic.

Up to 28 inches of heavy, wet snow accompanied by powerful winds were forecast in Washington, Baltimore and surroundings. That could be a historic snowfall for the nation's capital, where the record stands at 28 inches in January, 1922.

Airlines canceled flights across the region and school districts closed for the day ahead of the winter storm forecast from Virginia and West Virginia across Maryland into southern New Jersey and Pennsylvania. It was already snowing hard in Richmond, Va., on Friday morning.

I heard most of the places in Salisbury were out of sleds as well. I was at Farmers and Planters this A.M. to pick up some bird seed and they still have maybe a half dozen sleds left if anyone is looking for them.

Ace Hardware sold about 1,000 shovels before 10 am this morning. When I was there, I stood in line with about 100 people to get mine. Reports were that the register lines were through the store and out the store at some point! Somone even broke in last night to steal what shovels they had.

Some people never cease to amaze me.
This is how many snow storms this winter and people still didn't have snow shovels?
The people racing out to buy bread, eggs and milk....you all are included. How stupid! If you didn't already have these items, why do you need them because it's going to snow? You're catering to retail when you do this $hit! They can jack up the prices and guess what, you'll pay it because you THINK you need it!
And, most of you are EVIL when you're out getting these things, especially when all the other idiots have gotten to it before you did and there's nothing left.

my consumption of bread, milk and eggs is not correlated to the weather.
