Salisbury Police Department Press Releases



On February 3, 2010 at approximately 10:22 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on routine patrol in the area of College Avenue and observed the below listed suspect walking in the roadway in violation of traffic laws and stopped the suspect. The suspect gave the officers consent to search his person and during the search the officers located suspected cocaine, suspected marijuana and related CDS paraphernalia. Once these items were discovered, the suspect fled on foot but was apprehended following a short foot chase.


ARRESTED: Tommy Ray Richardson, 25 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland
CHARGES: Possession of cocaine
Possession of marijuana
Possession of CDS/paraphernalia (2 counts)
DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On February 3, 2010 at approximately 11:45 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on routine patrol in the area of East Railroad Avenue and Elizabeth Street and observed a vehicle operated by the below listed suspect violate traffic laws. The officers attempted to stop the vehicle however the vehicle fled from the area. The suspect led the officers on a vehicle pursuit for a substantial amount of time that resulted in the suspect striking a parked vehicle on Decatur Avenue and coming to rest in the front yard of a residence. The suspect then exited the vehicle and fled from the area on foot. Officers gave chase and were able to apprehend the suspect. The suspect was found to be driving without a license.

Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Accident
Reckless driving
Fleeing and eluding
Assorted other motor vehicle violations
DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On February 4, 2010 at approximately 3:16 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Food Lion Store on Snow Hill Road for the report of a theft. Upon arrival the officers met with store management who advised that the below listed suspect, an employee of the store, was observed attempting to take meat from the store without making payment. The meat was recovered and returned to the store.


ARRESTED: Michael Lee McCauley, 32 years of age
Laurel, Delaware
CHARGES: Theft (under $ 1000)
Attempted theft (under $ 1000)
DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

Gave consent to search person with drugs on them? Yeah, thats believable. I think the ACLU and more national networks need to do some investigating in Salisbury.

For a probable cause violation the subject of the stop must feel he is free to leave before legitamate consent can be given for a search. Common violation of civil rights from idiot cops.
