Great show Joe. I don't know why I haven't used this logic but my next car will be a Toyota.

Doug, I also said Barrie Tilghman and Chief Webster SUCK at what they do. You didn't seem to have a problem with that statement back then.

What you said about the toyota deal,I completly understood and pretty much agree, with that being said,I think that most peoples feelings about buying american made cars are mostly about the fact that you are supporting jobs for our own country or kinda like ur keeping the money home so to speak.Although forieghn cars do and by far outlast american cars so yes I feel that you get more for ur money out of buying a honda/toyota,etc. than you get from a chevy/ford,etc. so if american engineers could learn a little something from thier engineers it would be a different story by far.

Volunteering to help out the old folks is wonderful. Thank you.

For middle class, single people like me, I wish I could afford a Toyota but right now, being without a vehicle at all, I would take anything that is reliable and affordable. Sometimes, you have to be in someone elses shoes like mine. American made or foreign, I just want to be able to get to work everyday and get back home. Pohanka is not even sure if they can help me yet. Times are hard for everyone and if you need a 2nd chance like I do, I would be happy to have a motor scooter! If I had a choice, I would buy a Toyota. Nice cars but I don't have that option. I have to take whatever a dealer can get for me and I will still be grateful. By the way, years ago I was a UAW member and worked at Dresser and only bought 1American made car. The best ones were made elsewheres.

I've been driving Dodges since 85.
My wife likes her GMC's. We haven't had very much problems with either brand that would make us change.

Toyota Camry is one of the most American made/built vehicles on the market

My name is Johnnie Miller and I have a 1974 Toyota P/U Extended cab.

It is currently tagged and sitting right next to my garage and runs.

I have 636,000 miles on it and most everyone jokes with me about my vehicle. I was so impressed with my 1984 model that I went out and have bought two more since then.

Bottom line - they are just flat out dependable vehicles.

If you don't take it from me. . .then listen to Joe. He is not lieing about their dependability.

Reference 7:52

I can see you need to be convinced that Toyota is superior.

Here is what I recommend. I want you to go to your nearest automoble repair garage and ask them to provide you with a 13" rear Toyota brake drum and a 15" rear GM brake drum. Then I want you to place the 13" Toyota brake drum it in your right hand and 15" GM brake drum in your left hand.

Quickly you will notice that the 13" Toyota brake drum weights about twice as much as the 15" GM brake drum.

Bottom line - it is that type of quality that runs through the whole Toyota vehicle. That is why they last as long.

anonymous 8:08, Let me start with this. At the time, Toyota didn't have a big enough truck for me to drive across the country with a large horse trailer buying baby foals, (15 at a time) and haul them all the way home. That's why I didn't buy a Toyota to start with.

Secondly, Salisbury News is nowhere near the size of ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CNN and the many others out bashing Toyota. However, I think the word SUCKS will gain a lot more attention should any one of them Google Toyota and wish to follow the real pulse of Americans.

anonymous 7:37, might I suggest buying a USED Toyota? You can save quite a bit of money by doing so yet get a very dependable vehicle that will far out last a brand new American made car anyway.

I can't be picky at this time but if I had the money, a Toyota would be parked in my parking spot right now! I honestly believe that she will come through with a soultion to help me!

Joe,

Joe,

It is so like you to offer your help to those in need.

Caretakers such as those at PRMC, assisted living centers, nursing homes take care of our loved ones. They may very well be asking for help to and from their place of employment.

I am quite sure that our community will set up to the plate and help out.

We need more people like you Joe!
