Illegal Immigration Costs Harford County Residents a total of $60,184,528.00 Per Year

calculates that the cost of illegal immigration to Harford County taxpayers will be over :60 Million dollars
($60,184,528.00)
This amount is the cost of public education, emergency healthcare and incarceration for illegal aliens. HSM bases its calculations on recent information provided by the Maryland Department of Planning and the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).
"Our citizens should be outraged," said Darlinda Ruzek, the HSM coordinator for Harford County. "Given the difficult economic situation many Harford County taxpayers find themselves in, what household can afford to pay $790.00 each year to support people who are living here illegally?"
HSM's calculations do not include the cost of other social services provided by the County, like day laborer centers and non-emergency health clinics. Nor do they include the value of state and county grants and contracts paid to organizations that serve a predominantly illegal clientele, such as CASA de Maryland, Identity Inc., Catholic Charities, Centro Familia and the Latino Economic Development Corporation.
"And we didn't even begin to try to estimate the economic losses, and pain and suffering that will be inflicted upon Harford County residents next year due to the growing crime, gang violence, housing code violations and traffic accidents caused by illegal aliens," said Brad Botwin, Director of Help Save Maryland. "If we had, the cost would be much, much higher."
Help Save Maryland is a grass-roots, multi-ethnic, non-partisan citizens' organization opposed to the use of tax dollars on programs and services for illegal aliens in Maryland. It has members in 23 counties & Baltimore City.

Actually it's a lot more. The illegals are here because the socialist structure of our economy is such that the citizens that would work the jobs the illegals are working can't afford to lose their Sec 8 funds, Medicaid, Food Stamps, child care and other welfare payments. Take them away the illegals would have to compete with citizens for work and they'd lose.
Best solution to this problem , put a bounty on them.

I think is easy have complaints about the inmigrants, but let me ask you something, have you seen a "gringo" working at the farms for $8.00 per hour? Have you seen an White American working at McDonalds 12 hours a day for a $6.00 per hour?? I know what the answers are, but you have understand if this people is not here who will make the work so you can go to McDonals and get a full combo with all extras for $7 bucks??? if we put there gringos the same combo will cost $15.00 and you have wait up to 20 minutes to get your hamberger done, because I am sure the Union will not permit the Americans make more than 3 hamberger per hour.........so do not think rid of the hispanics will solve the problem about the budget deficit this county, country, and state have.
Yes I am an inmigrant legally here in this beautifull country, I pay my taxes and I pay to live here and I do not support the inmigration bill I just support the legal inmigration and the fact this is a country of inmigrants.
Now someone needs to do a study on how much money illegals contribute to the economy, and how much money they save local businesses and contractors, thus passing on those savings to all of you who hire these companies because they're cheap. then compare the numbers. And if you really hate illegals so much, why do you hire them to do your yards and hire companies to do work for you when you know they have illegals?

Schools are especially hit hard, because their has been a definite reduction in academic performance owing to overcrowded classrooms. I saw this first hand before I departed California, as my sons school was all but English as a second language. Very few Angelo's are aware of Title 1 schools that offer free breakfast and free lunch programs. Saying free breakfast, Its not talking a glass of milk and roll — but a full breakfast and cereal bar with fruits and juices of which the dumpster becomes full. Free medical, free education, free food, day care and host of programs that most American taxpayers remain ignorant about?

The tax and spend mentality has specifically caused a terrible crisis in California by Sacramento Liberal apologists in the assembly. In Los Angeles city the indifferent indifferent elected officials have a nerve to try and pass a $100 dollar tax on Angeleno property owners to bolster the wilting school funds. In my way of thinking, Angeleno's should place the whole city officials in contempt and propose a class action lawsuit in front of the courts. California's nearly 3 million illegal immigrants cost taxpayers in 2004 nearly $9 billion each year, according to a report released by the Federation for American Immigration Reform, a Washington, D.C.-based group that promotes stricter immigration policies.The study looks specifically at the costs of educating illegal immigrants' children, providing medical treatment to illegal immigrants and jailing those convicted of committing crimes.
The report estimates the total cost at $10.5 billion each year, but that is offset by about $1.7 billion in taxes that illegal immigrants pay. also added an estimate of 597,000 U.S.-born children whose parents are illegal immigrants arriving at a total of 1,022,000 children. Multiplying the number of children by the estimated $7,577 the state spends on average per pupil, the study arrived at the $7.7 billion figure. FAIR defended the report, saying that the children (Anchor Babies) were born in the United States as a result of their parents' illegal entry into the country. A similar study conducted by the Center for Immigration Studies in Washington, D.C., and released in August 2004, said that illegal immigrants cost the federal government $10 billion more than they pay in taxes. "State costs are much higher on a per capita basis because of the fact that the largest expenses are medical care and education and those are borne at the local level, not the federal,"
