ANNAPOLIS, Md. — A push to raise the speed limit from 65 to 70 mph on Maryland highways has cleared another hurdle.
The House of Delegates voted 126-10 on Thursday for a measure sponsored by Delegate Wendell Beitzel, a Garrett County Republican.
The Senate voted 39-7 last month for a bill sponsored by Sen. George Edwards that does the same thing. The House passed the bill last year, but it stalled in the Senate.
