Mary B. Pinkett was truly a well respected woman in Salisbury who loved mentoring children and had a long and distinguished history in Salisbury.
Mary was honored as one of Maryland's Top 100 Women. She also served on the Salisbury City Council.
Appointment - Mrs. Mary B. Pinkett to City Council Mrs. Mary B. Pinkett was formally sworn to serve the unexpired term of former Councilwoman Gertrude Shockley by County Clerk Mark Bowen who administered the oath and provided the proper certification in accordance with State and City requirements. Mrs. Pinkett was congratulated and welcomed by all the City Council Members, the Mayor and City staff present and applauded by members of her family and friends and residents of District No. 1 which she will represent.
You should know that in September of 2013 the Mayor and Council delivered a Proclamation – proclaiming Mary Black Pinkett Day.

During the proclamation there was also a street named for her.
She was a kind and wonderful person.
