Even though I feel the mayor has good intentions for the city, this move makes him look small. It appears that this move is in retaliation to council recently amending the charter.
It appears as though he's trying to get a majority that will favor his agendas. I doubt if the population of Salisbury has changed much since he decided to run for mayor. Or has it? Why didn't he campaign on this issue?
Absolutely, positively not. The current Council (except for Shields and Mitchell) is working for the citizens of this town, looking out for their best interests and Mr. Mayor Boy doesn't like it one little bit.
No , we need less government , I would like to see 2 less members. I won't mention the names but it is not debbie or terry. We could make faster and better decisions with less government. Cost saving also! Maybe Ireton has opened the pandoras box.
Hal NO! The first thing is How to pay them... that's just the first thing for a voter turnout of less than a fourth of the population? The only way to get a higher turnout is to go door to door with the ballots. Anyone who wants to can vote, yet they don't. This won't increase the #'s.
population has been 30K for a very LOOOng time, now. Not big enough to warrant this expansion...and most are itinerants from the college. We actually have fewer permanent residents.
