Salisbury Police Bicycle Patrol

A resident on the Downtown Plaza just contacted me saying he just saw what seemed like a dozen SPD Officers riding bikes through the Downtown Plaza. In his own words, it's very reassuring.

One thing is for sure, the Salisbury Police Department is truly coming back under the new leadership of Chief Barbara Duncan and we have to also give credit to Mayor Ireton.

While crime is dropping, crime will always be there. However, we're NOT hearing excuses and we ARE seeing crimes, (especially serious ones) solved.

Its very refreshing and yes, reassuring, to say the least.

That was a team of Officers from several agencies in Bike Patrol Training being offered at the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy. As part of the class they go out and travel around several areas and face the different obstacles one might face when on bike patrol. This is a four day course offered. I believe there should be several bike patrol units deployed in every county, city. A great way to meet citizens.

Give credit to the city council that made the decision to hire Duncan over Ireton's crony, too. Nice guy, but no way would he be kicking butt the way Duncan is.

It was the city council that chose Chief Duncan and she is sharp as a tack. Kudo to Salisbury police.

Give credit where credit is due, and I think Duncan has been a great addition, but that was a bike class for officers from many different agencies training, just happend to ride through the plaza?
