Opponents Of In-State Tuition Have 100K Signatures

The Republican-led group trying to repeal the controversial new state law granting new benefits to illegal immigrants reported that they've met their goal of 100,000 signatures opposing the law.

The group submitted 57,000 signatures last month and plan to turn in the balance this evening in Annapolis. So far, the State Board of Elections has determined that 47,000 of the signatures are valid. The group needs another 8,400 acceptable signatures to have the law put to voters in November 2012.

Supporters of the new law, which grants illegal immigrants in-state tuition at Maryland's colleges and universities, held a rally in Baltimore earlier today where they pledged a state-wide campaign supporting the measure.

Please do not sign petition... I left Maryland because of stupid politicians, keep those illegals there. I mean you are number 2 on the most desirable list for illegals.

Maryland is a JOKE

Isn't it better for illegals to gain an education and hopefully become a productive member of society rather than hanging out in the barrio and slashing my tires?

1107-Then they can pay out of state tuition rates like every other non-MD resident. I say, unless MD is willing to strike non-resident tuition prices for American citizens first, than the illegal alien tuition issue is a non-starter. Why does a kid from De. have to pay 10K more a year, but Hector the fence jumper gets a discount rate? Either way, I'm not for subsidizing out of state students, nor illegals. Eliminate out of state tuition costs for all or none.

What if we all collectively stopped paying state taxes would they then listen to the voters?

No it is not better to give them an education, that is the problem, they are given too damn much. They should go the hell home and improve their own country.

Not possible unless you are self employed. They have to deduct taxes from your check because....it is law.
