Detectives Probe Bank Robbery

Location: PNC Bank, 2203 Kirkwood Highway, Elsmere, DE
Date and Time of Occurrence: Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 3:25 p.m.
Suspect: White male, 25-35 years of age, 5’09”-5’11” tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black long sleeved t-shirt, dark knee length shorts, white sneakers, and dark sunglasses.
Victim: 43 year old female employee (teller)

Elsmere- Delaware State Police detectives are investigating the robbery of an Elsmere area bank that occurred this afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:25 p.m. this afternoon as a male suspect entered the PNC bank branch located in the 2200 block of Kirkwood Highway west of the Elsmere town limits. The suspect then approached a 43 year old female teller and presented her with a demand note for cash. The teller complied with the suspect’s demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect then fled the bank and was last seen running behind an adjacent shopping center. There were no injuries.
