A Comment VERY Worthy Of A Post!!!!!!!!!

Allan Webster would be the worst possible Sheriff Somerset could ever have thrust upon it.

I have heard good and not so good stories about Sheriff Jones performance as Sheriff. However as I recently suggested to a Mt.Vernon resident "It is better the Devil you know than the one you do not know".

Alan Webster would cost the Somerset taxpayer significant monies just to fund his travel agenda. Webster lives to travel to any and all law enforcement meetings regardless of where they are or how much he would bill the county to send him.

I suspect he would continue his demonstrated wearing of civilian clothes rather than the tridional wearing of the Sheriffs uniform. As he toured about the County, and the State in his unmarked, county provided vehicle.

As Chief of the Salisbury Police Dept., he consitently demonstrated a reluctance to cooperate with other Wicomico County police agencies.

Mr Webster seeks the Office of Sheriff in Somerset simply to feed his ultra ego. He cares not a wit for the people of Somerset, only his desire to carry the prestige of being the Sheriff of Somerset County.

Somerset voters would be well advised to think long and hard about this position. Webster is a "come here" no matter what he tell's you about his connection to the Eastern Shore,he is Baltimore through and through.

Retired Sheriff of Wicomico Co.
R.Hunter Nelms

Hunter, you are my hero!

At least there are still some people that will tell it like it is. Hunter, you have hit the nail on it's bald head and you are so right. Thanx for the truth

Hunter, thanks for making an appearance. Haven't heard anything about you in 4 years. This must be close to your heart.

Thank you Mr. Nelms..this is exactly what the people of our County need to hear! And hopefully it'll be a wake up call to some of those whom, for some strange reason, are choosing to support him!

Thank you, former Sheriff Nelms, for speaking up. Maybe some of the sheeple in Somerset County will read this and reconsider what could be a very unwise choice. He would end up suing the County Commissioners everytime they denied something in his budget. And he would fit in like a square peg in an overwhelmingly Democratic county.

i guess webster thinks just because he stands on the side of the road waving at people that makes him a better canidate , but i forgot his worthless a?? has nothing to do since he is getting a medical retirement from salisbury for falling out of his office chair that he never left thats why he was such a good cheif and every good honest officer in he SPD hated him

If there were one person to say it like it is, it's Hunter Nelms. You were a great Sheriff for Wicomico, I just hope Somerset heeds your advice.
WAY TO GO HUNTER!!!

Sheriff Nelms like Joe said, My Hero!

I am so proud of you for speaking the truth. Thank you so much for your service to our country and our county. I supported you and your department in my ways than you can imagine.

Can't sign my name at this time because I can't afford the retaliation like I have had in the past.

Your friend....

i wonder if webster has got barrie tilgham picked as his cheif deputy she had to tell him how to run salisbury

Amen. Far as I concerned, Webster's a carpetbagger.

Well Joe, we wholeheartedly agree on one thing....Hunter is my brother from another mother and has always been my hero going back to my days as a fledging LEO with WCSO and he was a member of MSP.
Certainly not saying that Mike is not doing a great job but I have never thought that Hunter received the recognition due him for bringing the WCSD up to the level it is today.
Webster's image as a LEO was greatly diminished when he would not work with the other agencies. At least this is how it was portrayed in the media and now that I am retired in Florida that is what I have to go by.
Hopefully the voters in Somerset Co ar smart enough to realize this. Jones has stated that this will his last term....let him go and lets hope that in 4 years the prospects are better than Webster who comes across as arrogant as heck. jackkcharl@aol.com

Hunter - You have always been a great friend and a great supporter. You were a great Sheriff, and along with Chief Dykes and State's Attorney Ruark, made this County the safest it has ever been. Those years the three of you had together were the glory years of law enforcement in Wicomico. Now that the "Big Three" of you are all gone, it's truly the end of the "Glory Era" of law enforcement in Wicomico County. I salute you sharply and thank you immensely for all that you have done! DRILL would have made a big difference here, and you were sabotaged big time. We would not have the crime problems here if it had been allowed to continue. You were a GREAT SHERIFF. I'm happy to see you back expressing your views. May God Bless You "Real Good!"

Posters have hit it pretty close to the mark, except one point from Jack Richards. Sheriff Nelms did a great job of bringing WCSO into the 20th Century, but Sheriff Lewis has taken it further, still, as it should be.

i was at the fall festival in westover last saturday and saw something that everyone should consider prior to casting your vote. allen webster pulled into the parking lot at approx 2:50 pm in his truck. at 2:53 pm allen webster left without ever getting out of his truck. the reason: there was a small crowd of people at the festival and you can bet webster did not consider it worth the effort. bobby jones is not setting the world on fire with his leadership of the sheriffs office. but he is better than a person that takes advantage of every position of authority he has ever been in. bottom line-any person that does not wear a uniform on a daily basis is no leader.

You did a great job when you were in office. I am glad you voiced your opinion. Somerset is in for a rude awakening if Webster gets elected. Why not send this to be printed in the newspaper. Maybe it will change people's minds and get them to vote for our present Sheriff.

Hunter. It's good to hear from you in a public forum again. It's taken me many years to realize how right you were about so many things. It is clear that you always had the best interest of the citizens of Wicomico County at heart as you made the decisions about the direction of the Sheriff's Office. Many people wish you were still at the helm. Interestingly, you, by you own admission, have grown personally since you decided not to run again. Thanks for sharing your insight of the Webster situation with us. It carries more weight than you know. Maybe we'll run into each other again soon in Home Depot.

Somerset County: Don't make the same mistake we did here in Salisbury! Webster's second retirement should be his last!

Anonymous said...

WE didn't make the mistake in Salisbury. Unless it was by extension of electing the mayor and council who hired him.

Anonymous said...

Webster brought the worst of Baltimore policing when he came to Salisbury. He was a faithful puppet of Barry Tilghman: not shy about lying to everyone and anyone about anything and everything, especially how bad Salisbury's crime had become on his watch. Police morale went right down the drain (but instantly recovered when he left).
Somerset has its problems, but why add one more - and still have the same problems in addition?

Webster, can you say K-k-k-k-karma. Man is it a b----.

Amen Hunter...at least we know what we have with Bobby Jones, he got my vote

Hunter great to hear from you. As for you 7:46 this post has nothing to do with Mike Lewis. I think you have sucked up enough the last four years. Feeling a little guilty.

With that said Hunter makes one of the strongest points in that Webster refused to work with any allied agencies. Webster then used his baltimore connections to pump up issues about the Wicomico D.R.I.L.L. The fact is Webster did not give a damn about the kids. He just wanted to see Hunter in turm oil. If truth be known I think Webster may have thought he would be the next Sheriff of Wicomico County. He knew his days were numbered. He needed to discredit Nelms. Tilghman is just as crooked as Webster.

Hunter I would follow you into hell on a sunday. I would even take the point. I just cant cast a vote for any of three running down there.

See you on the other side Captain America

Please Vote for Jones!!!!!!!!!!
Webster will get rid of the good Deputies that we have......anyone a friend of Jones is GONE!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Yes Hunter thanks for all you did for us! Sheriff Mike has a whole different world out there to deal with now & he is doing a great job for us too.

Speaking of bringing "Baltimore ways "---- as far as I am concerned "Ehrlich" is one in the same!

Sheriff jones has my vote. Webster keep on waving and i'll keep giving you the finger!

Glad to see someone is publishing positive comments about Sheriff Jones.Say what you will, but the man is never seen out of uniform in public and he is approachable. You can walk up to him in a local store and talk to him without feeling like you are being tolerated.

Thank you so much for posting this Joe and Hunter for writing this. Webster is running a smear campain against Jones and i hope everybody sees that. Webster even has his wife on the side of the road holding signs for him. I sure hope Jones wins this or somerset county will regret it. Jones Has my VOTE!!!!!!!!!

J.Albero said...

Webster has his wife out there because he lost 50% of his Baltimore retirement to his former wife, they need the money!!!!

Anonymous said...
