Is it just me, or is a big deal being made of this dress code situation? It seems that everytime I turn around, the issues is being written or talked about. The BOE is so concerned about this, but shouldn't they be worrying about all those schools that didn't make the grade on the state tests? When 8 elementary schools don't make the grade, that says something about the state of education here. Also, while we are talking about dress codes, anyone ever get a look at what some of these teachers are wearing? It drives me nuts that about every female employee is wearing sandals, much less what passes for 'professional dress' on their behalf. I understand that their 'association' pretty much keeps the Principals from enforcing this, but I would think that they would want to set the standard for their students! Now, having said all of this, I will be willing to bet that the teachers will come out of the woodwork to slam me for writing this and infringing on their rights, but seriously, who sets the standard? Not them, that's for sure!
