Coed, Women’s 3-Hit, Women’s 6 Hit, Men’s Leagues Available; Coed Drop-in
(Salisbury, MD) The Wicomico County Department of Recreation, Parks & Tourism will offer four different adult volleyball leagues for the 2010-2011 volleyball season: coed volleyball, women’s 3-hit, women’s 6-hit, and men’s 4 v 4. In addition to league play, the County will also offer a drop-in program on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, which is open to the public.
The coed volleyball league will take place on Sunday afternoons during the fall and winter months at the Bennett Middle School gymnasium. The league will consist of 3 different levels of play: Power A, Power B, and Power C. The Power C division is part of the County’s initiative to develop adult social recreation and will be open to recreational players and teams. Social recreation is a great way to meet new people, bond with co-workers and have fun with friends! The registration deadline for coed volleyball is Friday, October 1 and games are slated to begin Sunday, October 17.
The women’s 3-Hit program plays on Monday and Wednesday evenings during the winter months at various locations within Salisbury. The deadline to register is Friday, November 5 and the first regular season match will take place on Monday, November 15. A pre-season informational meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 14 at 7 pm at the Civic Center in Flanders Room 2.
The women’s 6-Hit program will take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at various locations in the County. The deadline to register is Friday, November 5 and the first regular season match will take place on Tuesday, November 23. A pre-season informational meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 14 at 6 pm at the Civic Center in Flanders Room 2.
The men’s 4 v 4 volleyball league is back for the 2nd straight year and will take place on Wednesday nights at Bennett Middle School. The deadline to register is Friday, November 5 and the first match will take place on Wednesday, November 17. The men’s volleyball pre-season meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 22 at 6:30 pm at the Civic Center in Danang Room 1.
For those looking for extra gym time, the County will also offer a coed drop-in program on Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning Tuesday, October 12. The drop-in program is open to players ages 15 & older and is $5 per night for 2 hours of action. Most drop-in sessions will take place from 7-9 pm but times may vary based on the youth volleyball schedule.
