AriZona Iced Tea: Don't Hate Us, We're From New York

While there's much heated discussion about Arizona's controversial new immigration laws, the folks at AriZona Iced Tea have somehow found themselves caught in the crossfire, with some even calling for a boycott on the beverage brand. That's why one of the founders of the company wants everyone to know that, just like inauthentic picante sauce, they're originally from New York City.

People ARE idiots. What does the name of a beverage have to do with illegal immigration? We are the ones to blame for the illegals here because we let these employers bring them here.
On a side note, one of the biggest employers of illegals on the lower shore(wont name the company but its in Somerset County) is pleading poverty and trying to get their county sewer bill reduced for both their production area and their employee migrant "camp".They cant afford their bills but they can afford a lawyer to fight it????Con artists! The county should not subsidize an outfit who skirts immigration laws. That is the real issue here too,as long as we allow perks and benefits to companies who blantantly hire illegals,we are screwing ourselves.Save the water and sewer rebates for AMERICAN operated businesses

Blutojtotmom: Who are you going to find to pick and pack the veggies, people put on their tables? There is more to this story than you are telling. The Sanitary Dist is making ALL on the route pay a service fee regardless if they hook up to the water/sewer line or not. In the case of the migrant camp, and packing they are being forced by the government to hook up to the new system and I feel they have a legitimate complaint because they will be required to pay for the service all year even though it will only be used about 4 months of the year. There is a huge difference in the new cost compared to what it cost before hookup. Their hookup fee is very high too. Kuzzans has an inhouse lawyer to handle their legal issues so that expense to the company is not what you are inferring. Do you have proof on "skirting the immigration law"? I do not think the illegal problems you imply with Kuzzens are acurate.

I certainly have a lot of sympathy for all on the route who can't afford to hook up but are required to pay a fee anyway. I feel Somerset County Sanitary is going to be causing many properties to be placed on the Tax Sale list for default of payment. How do you feel about your taxes going up Blutojtotmom because it sure is going to become reality if Som Co has a lot of properties on their inventory.

Gee,you know an awful lot about this, would your name be Don? Are you in PR mode?LOL,seriously....this place fired almost all their American employees right before Christmas and kept their vacation pay from them, maybe they used those savings to pay their legal bills....
Tough sh*t about the sewer costs-they knew all this when the sewer came through.Little old ladies on pensions AND churches in the area are getting stuck with the sewer bill.If an elderly homeowner facing losing her home to pay the bill cant get a break, but an out of town company can,the public will revolt.
Kuzzens doesnt like it,they can leave. Then the illegals can follow them on out of town too.If ICE doesnt shut them down first.Dont get me started on what a great neighbor this company is,you wont like what you hear!
