What Would Happen If...

1) Reroute any Tarp/ Stimulus funds to pay each homeowner the difference in the assessed value of their home between now and 6/2007… no strings on how to spend it; Americans still reserve the right to make bad decisions. Then repeal the rest of the spending bills.

2) Enact an 11% “Fair Tax immediately, and lay off the IRS employees; they have Unemployment coming. Abolish the Fed payroll taxes, FICA deductions. You keep all your pay.

3) Over the next year, cut all Federal Department employees and management in half. They have unemployment benefits coming, too.

4) Stop further Federal “Emergency” spending. Require a balanced budget. This may cut more Federal jobs. Cut them.

5) Educate people that this is a one time deal, and they SHOULD buy American with their mortgage adjustment money.

6) Throw out the Cap and Trade idea and the 2700 page pile of garbage Health $ takeover bill that we don’t want.

7) Restart the HC debates with Andy Harris’ plan as a starting point.

8) Work the rest of the next 2 years repealing all unconstitutional laws.

Result?

We, the People will have our value back in our homes, and a lot of money will get back to the banks as a result. Those who are in older mortgages will have cash to spend on all realms of small business economy. This country would be hiring everybody and their ex-government working brothers tomorrow morning!

What do you, the People, think?

Good idea , simple solution. But it won't fly , the government would have to form a committee to handle each small task. Would wind up taking about 20 years to tell us it won't work , like the bay clean-up.
They would need 100,000 pages of documents 50 lawyers to lie for them.
Simple solution , stop obama now!

It's a great idea!!!
Now all we need is a great idea to convince congressional crooks to go straight and stop stealing!

Great idea, but remember, the simpler the idea, the least our Congressman understand. Look at the tax code and the thousands of pages. Your idea could make it one page. How can we have dozens of committee's to study this and vote? Out congressmen do not read the laws they vote for because they are toooooooo long.

Makes way too much sense for a politician to understand.

Takes to much POWER away from Congress. They would never go for it.

this is a great start. i love the flat tax, but make it a flat federal sales tax. no irs. no april 15th. none of that crap. this would then collect money from everyone...pimps, drug dealers and every other under the board culture. Things would begin to become fair!!!!

I'm not quite sure that an across-the-board 11% tax would pay for all the unemployment benefits you'd need to shell out for all the people who'd be "canned" from this proposal. Also, the payroll taxes that are withheld from may paycheck go towards Social Security and Medicare. If you discontinue payroll taxes, what are you going to use to take care of all those elderly folks who rely on Social Security as their sole source of income? I agree -- we definitely need to do something and to "revamp" our system. Perhaps the first thing to go should be to eliminate all the wasteful spending. God knows there's enough of that!

SS and Medicare comes out of the 11%. There would be no April 15th for anything but to enjoy a nice spring day. With so much cashflow, 11% would be enough and employment would be here for anyone wanting a job! Unemployment insurance should be private, as the government has obviously robbed it in the past for there to be not enough now to go around. Besides, there would be no need for it if we all could get jobs.

Orson, what people don't get it that it's 11% federal on top of whatever state tax there is...that may clear up some stuff.
