A CBS report that cites an elderly white man's "shoe-shining" remark as the trigger for a "racially tinged" transit bus altercation in Oakland, Calif., is being blasted on the network's website forum page by participants who say the black man involved "got what he deserved."

LOL How funny! I do not condone violence one bit. However, I do believe 100% in self defense. The older man at least went to the front of the bus to get away from the young one. He made an attempt.
Unfortunately, today's black men have been so emasculated by black women that they feel violence, money & property are the only ways to prove their manhood. I strongly believe that if a male is given respect from the time he is a child through adulthood, then he will stand up in that. But with black women usually being so dominating, there will never be a change. It starts at home.
Mind you, I know there are so many more factors that contribute to each situation. This is just my theory and I know my thoughts cause a lot of controversy but confronting with truth usually does.

Self defense would be blocking any attack and possibly restraining them, not beating them to a bloody pulp.
