Paying a dollar for an rx is typical of people on disability. My girlfriend is on disability. She rarely pays more than a dollar for her rx's. And gets some potent stuff for her problems. But has never been offered methadone for migraines in 10 years of treatment. she'd also said she'd never think of running for public office, and rarely drives a car. she couldn't believe what she has seen and heard of this woman.

He is just as much a problem as she is and he probably new she was on drugs. There best friend is Sarah Meyers who worked on Laura's and Jim Ireton's campaign. Her reward was a full time job with the City of Salisbury. She is the full time Curator of the Poplar Hill Mansion.
Chris Demone is also a good friend of theirs who also got a full time job with the City of Salisbury as Jim Ireton's PIO(Public Information Officer).
That was an unneeded position and it goes to show you that click of Laura Mitchell and Josh Hastings is corrupt. ALL of the local Democrats are extremely corrupt.
It would be in the best interest of all the voters to vote Republican only in Wicomico County. Local Democrats are crooks and that is why we have a serious spending problem in Wicomico County and the City of Salisbury.

Nope, not me and I am around her often. This one is a lie. About a year or so ago she was seeing a doctor for knee problems, but she didn't seem to have any knee pain. I thought then that she was faking an injury so she could get some free pain meds. Crakhed
The best thing we as voters can do is make sure Laura Mitchell and Josh Hastings doesn't get elected.

I have stood behind Laura Mitchell on occasions at another local pharmacy where she typically pays $1 or less for her prescription(s). If she is not playing the system, I don't know who is. I pay my typical $20-30 for one bottle. She does not deserve to serve on any council. She typically acts loopy when she she speaks so maybe her meds explain that. Low Life.

Methadone products when used for the treatment of opioid addiction in detoxification or maintenance programs, shall be dispensed only by opioid treatment programs (and agencies, practitioners or institutions by formal agreement with the program sponsor) certified by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and approved by the designated state authority. Certified treatment programs shall dispense and use Methadone in oral form only and according to the treatment requirements stipulated in the Federal Opioid Treatment Standards (42 CFR 8.12). See below for important regulatory exceptions to the general requirement for certification to provide opioid agonist treatment.
Failure to abide by the requirements in these regulations may result in criminal prosecution, seizure of the drug supply, revocation of the program approval, and injunction precluding operation of the program.
Regulatory Exceptions To The General Requirement For Certification To Provide Opioid Agonist Treatment: During inpatient care, when the patient was admitted for any condition other than concurrent opioid addiction (pursuant to 21 CFR 1306.07(c)), to facilitate the treatment of the primary admitting diagnosis.
During an emergency period of no longer than 3 days while definitive care for the addiction is being sought in an appropriately licensed facility (pursuant to 21 CFR 1306.07(b)).
Melissa's opinion is as irrelevant as she is. If Melissa or anyone else for that matter believes Laura then they need to question why her son was in possession of her prescription which is a controlled substance and has the potential for abuse.
People like Melissa are the problem and they are to be dismissed because they offer nothing of value.

Debbie Campbell and Terri Cohen were the best council members this City has ever had. They put their hearts and souls into turning this City around and bringing it out of the Ghetto. God Bless them for so much Hell they went through because of their own party.

So, after reading all of these 263 comments and watching and reading WBOC's and the Daily Times' spins, here's what I can gather:
1. Ms. Mitchell did have at least one prescription for a Schedule II medication, Methadone.
2. Ms. Mitchell's Methadone was stored in her home.
3. Ms. Mitchell's Methadone was found in the possession of her son, a longtime drug abuser, while he was maintaining residence in her home, but the Methadone container seen in the blog photo is not the one found on his person/in his vehicle, because that one is in a police evidence locker.
4. Ms. Mitchell evidently had this medication prescribed to her on at least two occasions, even though she said that she used it once and never again after finding that she didn't like the side effects.
5. Ms. Mitchell said that she obtained the medication for migraine headaches, yet no one who knows her who has spoken on this issue has ever known her to complain of or be subject to such headaches, headaches which are, for most sufferers, completely debilitating.
6. Ms. Mitchell, may have been under the influence of Methadone since March of 2011 while conducting city business as a councilwoman, as no hard evidence suggests otherwise.

Just saw Ms. Mitchell leaving Civic Center after early voting this am. She had a spring in her step and seemed pretty happy! We know that she will receive at least one vote...lol
I'm going to wait until election day to vote, IF there is any fraud it would more than likely be with the early voter numbers. I did like the convenience, however, wasn't too happy with the outcome.

On the topic of voting, I also will not be voting for Judge Sarbanes now that I have taken a field trip to observe him in the courtroom. Much too lenient and placating to ill behaved young criminals like coming for court is inconveniencing them. I know that I am not satisfied with his performance, don't know how Caldwell will be, but am certainly willing to give him a chance after what I personally observed.
If you have the chance to speak with Caldwell's sons, ask them how he was when they were growing up. He was stern but fair is what I've been told. I expect he will be the same on the bench. Stern but fair. I can't see him mollycoddling anyone.
Caldwell has my vote. Received a postcard in today's mail from "Jimmy" to vote for him on November 4 with many of the local attorney's signing their names on the postcard backing him. Wow, what a surprise that was to see all these attorney's in support of him and can't figure out why other than they feel sorry for him if he loses his job. I just got done going through the comments on the Blubber Boys Blog about Councilman Bob Culver. There was over 100 comments so I had to see for myself. Those damn comments had to be written by Blubber Boy himself. It was obvious that the same person wrote them and he made some of the same comments over and over but in a slightly different context because he couldn't think for himself.
The key that gave it away was that almost all of them were about one minute or less apart. Several were posted at the same exact time. Blubber Boy has to much time on his hands.

I saw her as well and I was extremely pissed. She was parked right in front of the Civic Center in the very first Handicapped Parking Space with her door magnets on her car and she was standing there politicking with her sign. That fat lazy pig stole a handicapped parking space that an elderly women needed and she had to walk a long distance from the parking lot. Poor woman.

11:50 - I have seen many instances of one being dragged down by the other. In most of those cases, something happened that 'just wasn't right'...only to later find out about the attitudes of the other being rubbed off in this manner.

You are correct and Laura Mitchell is joined at the hip by Josh Hastings. They are both liberal Democrats and both endorsed by the liberal daily rag.
They were put together by Chuck Cook, Jim Ireton and the vile local Democrat Machine.
If Ron Pagano wasn't exposed he would have been endorsed by the liberal daily rag as well.

INFORMATION..communities need to know what is going on. I moved here not knowing what a drug problem Salisbury has, because of the lack of "sunshine" in the local paper. Joe with a bit of sensationalism, provides a very important service to the commuity. I do not like the comments that are nasty, but they sure show the attitude of the people who live here. The second thing Joe provides is a sincere interest in this community. Thanks Joe.
As for Ms. Mitchell, folks should bother to look into her background. she is a public official, and deserves scrutiny she has been accused of welfare fraud, among other things, do you think that maybe someone should comment from the welfare department, do you think that someone would investigate the free benefits she is accused of getting from the state? Do we want that type of person on any council? Who is minding the store folks? How about some answers, how about doing some investigation yourselves? There are plenty of rumors
lets have some facts. do you care? do you vote? Please do (both).
Her possible welfare fraud and prescription drug abuses and her sketchy resume aside (that's a lot of asides, I know), what does she have to offer the county as a representative?
She hasn't done anything to make the city a better place in her three+ years on city council - no original ideas, no legislation, no community service - only self-serving stuff. MML was happy to see her go from its leadership, the Democratic Club had to do some sleight-of-hand to cover up her abuse of her position as treasurer while her husband was president, the Tri-County Commission wishes it had someone else from the city as a rep, and she has been zero help on the Airport Commission.
So, what are her real, representative-worthy qualifications and contributions? If anybody would like to comment, please do.

I think that 1:53 PM's comment should stand on its own. Nobody so far has given positive comments about Mitchell. 1:53's comment issues a challenge of sorts.
I would also like to see 1:53's comment as a stand alone post.
IF I could ever stomach talking to this woman, I would tell her to her face that I could have sympathized if she has a drug problem, IF she had told the truth, which I believe she did not. And IF she had not made those outrageous accusations against Mr. Albero AND the Salisbury Police Department.
Where was your proof, Mrs. Mitchell, when you shot off your mouth? Where was your apology?
To those of us who have lost family and friends in the line of duty, your unfounded accusations against the police department are worthy of a recall. And not that you would know anything about this, but one of the Ten Commandments is, "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor." That's what you did to Mr. Albero and the Salisbury Police.
You are not worthy of public office and should resign rather than seeking more.
