Wicomico Circuit Court Judge

A few facts.

A Circuit Court Judge is appointed by the Governor, then must stand for election by the voters of that county, as stated in the Maryland Constitution, Article IV. See http://msa.maryland.gov/msa/mdmanual/43const/html/04art4.html

It has been more than 30 years since a Wicomico County General Election has had a contested race for a Circuit Court Judgeship. The last 2 contested primaries for a county Circuit Court Judgeship the contesting party never made it to the general election. See http://www.elections.state.md.us/index.html

In the 2014 primary more votes were cast in Wicomico County in the Circuit Court Judge's race (9,629) than in any other contest, including the Governors race (9,474). See http://www.elections.state.md.us/elections/2014/results/primary/gen_results_2014_1_by_county_23-1.html

The Democratic Governor's appointee has raised more than $68,000. Of those funds 28% (almost $20,000) come from sources not just outside of Wicomico County, but from other states.. Mr. Caldwell has raised just under $11,000 from people other than himself. See http://www.elections.state.md.us/campaign_finance/index.html

Make of these what you will. They are facts, not speculation.

I'm starting to feel momentum building for MJ, he has done a better job lately of making it overtly clear how much more qualified he is.

Vote MJ tomorrow!

The Maryland Constitution set Circuit Court Judges in for election precisely so that politics would not allow this position to become political.

The Governor appointed an inexperienced person to the position. Is this what we deserve?

Vote to correct the error.

It is no surprise to find out that Judge S. James Sarbanes does not stand for justice, he sits on the bench and rules on cases based on what someone tells him how to rule on cases. I know.
