Two weeks ago we reported a blatant breach of the ethics law by the County's public information officer, who circulated material from Anthony Brown's campaign for the obvious purpose of denigrating Larry Hogan. In her e-mail the PIO, who is a member of County Executive Pollitt's staff, said that she had been "requested" to forward the material. She did not identify the person who made that request. Mr. Pollitt is Brown's local campaign manager.
Some months ago, it was disclosed that Mr. Pollitt has used his County credit card to buy groceries and multiple meals, and also that the car provided by the County to another member of his staff has been used for personal trips.
Why hasn't the Ethics Commission at least investigate these matters? What does it take to get that body to do something to clean up the ethical cesspool that Wicomico County has become?
FYI – the members of the Ethics Commission are appointed by the County Executive, subject to confirmation by the County Council.

Easy answer - they are out campaigning for the guy they're supposed to investigate.
This is a big surprise to me that the county has an ethics commission.Who's in charge of it?
Like I said in previous articles on this nothing will be done! The ethics committee will not bite the hand that has fed them! That group should be drawn from local attorneys or voted in with no party affiliation!
Did any of Salisbury News readers or Joe Albero contact the proper authorities in writing concerning these incidents? I can guarantee you, no investigation will take place just because of remarks or gossip on a blog.
When one suspects infraction and wants action, one MUST put that complaint in writing; in a letter; signed by the writer; and addressed to the proper authorities; sent by certified mail; return receipt requested.
I know of no person in authority, committee, commission etc.,who after reading comments on a blog, who would say "Oh Gee, after reading ABC Blog's damaging remarks I/we must investigate and bring charges against XYZ. - Do you?
Most ethical member Bob Eaton no longer on there...ask Ed Baker why.
1:45, yes a formal complaint has been filed by the Wicomico Republican Central Committee. County Attorney Baker is supposedly putting it together for the ethics commission. THE Daily Times covered this weekend and WBOC reported it tonight and sbynews reported last week.
What do you mean Bob Eaton isn't on the commission any longer? I didn't know that. He has served this country well for probably 20 years. Am I inferring Ed Baker took him off or what?
