Nurses Say Hospital Gave Them Choice: Assist Abortions or Lose Job
Lorna Jose Mendoza has been given a choice. She can either assist in an abortion this week at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, or she could refuse and risk losing her job.

its your job. period.
Government santioned murder!
Come on! Are you teling me that ANY hospital in this country could not find enough medical staff willing to perform this LEGAL medical procedure. Why start a fight? The leadership behind this move don't strike me as very bright.
In case anyone cares, I am pro-choice, but I also would not perform an abortion.
Murdering babies is not a job, it's a crime.
i often times have had to do things at jobs that i didn't like. that's what having a job is for most people. you do what you have to do to provide for your family.
i don't think medical professionals aren't supposed to be biased based on personal beliefs. they are supposed to provide the care thats requested by the patient to the best of their abilities. i could never be a doctor or nurse because my emotions would cloud my judgment 24/7.
if you don't like the job, i'm sure there are plenty of people currently out of work who would appreciate a paycheck.
Cathy sorry I disagree. People don't like to do certain things, clean the bathrooms, dig a large ditch, work with someone you don't like.....those are things we can move past. People go into nursing so that they can help people. They are not there so they can help murder a child. I don't know about you but I don't think I would want a nurse that has no compassion and just does what is told because its a paycheck.
its not like these people got into the medical field with the understanding that abortion is illegal because as of right now, its not. and would hope that they knew that their place of employment performed these services when they applied to work there. unless they have an employment contract which states they don't have to do this or that, then they should do it.
i do think its rediculous that the hospital is just now making it mandatory when in the past it wasn't. especially if there are other nurses who would assist.
