10:58 Partially, but not entirely true. How about addressing the nursing home and/or assisted living facility who refuses to adequately staff the floor in order to reduce costs (ie boost their profit because the patients sure are paying through the nose)? It's difficult for two healthy adults to care for 20 or so people who can't go to the bathroom unassisted and need help to eat.
You are right 8:33. Those old folks are just dollar signs in the eyes of those administrators that work for a nice fat bonus for cutting corners and saving money.
After hours is when most elder care facilities are short staffed the most. It's not unusual to have just 2 or 3 people to be left with 75 people to help maintain.
After visiting hours family members aren't likely to come in and check if the standards are the same as they are during the day.
When you have 70 some people that don't even know where their rooms are, how are they supposed to evacuate in case of a fire or other disaster?
During a fire the elevator can not be used. How do all those people in wheel chairs get down the steps to get out? By hand carried down the stairs, that's how.
Many places are just an accident waiting to happen.
Thats nasty, You all are right these people are just there so they can get a check they do not care about them it is all about the money.
