Ron Paul And Liberty

If Ron Paul had won the Ames Iowa poll, the mainstream media would have dismissed the entire exercise as unimportant. If he had come in at, oh, 6th place, they would have used this as evidence that he is incompetent, not in the first rank of Republican candidates, can’t get out the vote, the American people had rejected his candidacy, etc. So, when Congressman Paul took a magnificent second place, only 1% behind the winner, I said to myself, Hot diggity dog; the MSM can’t ignore him now. They cannot dismiss this entire result since if they did so, they would have to also deprecate Michele Bachmann’s win, and that they will not do. They now MUST give Dr. Paul his due credit, since he finished in close second place to her. They will be forced to discuss his ideas: bring the troops home, get rid of the Fed, drastically reduce taxes, eliminate a slew of illicit Federal departments, legalize drugs and other victimless crimes, stop foreign "aid," save the American dollar via 100% gold backing, etc.

Silly me. That shows how much I know. Instead, the talking heads are now tooting this line: "The three front runners are Mitt Romney, Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann." In their view, these are the major candidates, and all the others are also-rans. Why Mitt Romney? Well, he looks presidential, and he has a good chance with the tea partiers despite his Romney-car health policy in Massachusetts, oh so similar to Obama-care. Why Rick Perry? Well, he’s the governor of Texas, the second biggest state, isn’t he? And this despite the fact that he has not yet won anything in the presidential sweepstakes. Why Michele Bachmann? This is because, of course, she just won the Ames Iowa poll. Notice any name missing from all of this? I’ll give you a hint: this is the guy who came in SECOND, 1% behind "major candidate" Bachmann in this recent election. There used to be among the beltway "Austro-libertarians" a campaign to promote and study Austrian economics without "You Know Who" (Ludwig von Mises, of course). There is now a campaign amongst the major media to analyze the Republican presidential process without uttering the name of "You Know Who" (Ron Paul, of course).

Good ideas cannot be stopped....the more people who listen to what he actually says and don't listen to what the media WANTS to to hear, the better. This election may be, and likely is, the LAST chance this country has to remain in the forefront of economic, political, and moral example. Bachmann? She has no chance. All of those candidates are just saying what they THINK we want to hear and the media is lapping it up and feeding it back to us. Paul, a true patriot, is saying what NEEDS to be said, what is IMPERATIVE, and he is refutes, with logic and sound reasoning, ALL of the tired old lines being shoved down our throats as gospel. THINK for yourselves. Listen to Paul and you will find a man who has no other agenda than to save our great country from self-imposed destruction. No special interests to satisfy and promote, no military connections to keep rich, no political games to play and no desire to be written down in history as some "saviour". Just honest-to-goodness patriotism and a desire to do whats right for our country.

Ron Paul tied the Iowa Caucus hands down for a reason. Not because everyone had to go through Bachman's table in order to sign up to vote (How fair is that?) but because he talks sense that the existing machine is totally afraid of! The TEA Party is powering an engine that the candidates either have to get on or try to stop. It's hard to stop a train! What it's going to take is a lot of input to blogs such as this one to keep his name and actions and ideas in front of the American people. I am personally shocked that FOX is also partaking in downplaying Paul's win in the straw poll.
I used to watch FOX for unbiased opinion, but it's absent now.
Watch out for this on election day... the MSM will try to steer you away from Ron Paul just as they are doing today. Just visit his website and educate yourself, don;t take my word for it.

God, I sure miss Glenn Beck's show. He would be able to spell it iut. Hope he comes back for the election season.

Ron Paul is our only chance if there is one left. Ron Paul tells it like it is and someone on another blog belives he is unelectable because he doesn't articulate his position well enough. Well I believe that Americans are smart enough to see the truth if they would just take the time to look at it. We have, as a nation, been asleep for far too long. We are waking up a little more every day. If we re-elect Obama.....we are dead as a soveriegn nation immediately. Gridlock will be the rule rather than the exception. Socialism will be inevitable. If we elect any of the other repubs currently running, we will get more of the same...politics before country. Party before country. And we the people will get the "dirty" end of the stick again. Ron Paul is the only one who we can trust to do what he says he will do to the extent that congress will let him. Let's get this man into office so we can save what is left of our nation and rebuild her to greatness. The party hacks havve brought us to our knees. Do we want to see our friends and family rioting in the streets because we can't pay our bills before we act as one people and bring sanity back? We had better wake up! Don't look to the stock market to see whats going on. Look out your front door! Look at the increasing number of homeless. Look at th increasing numberof people on food stamps. Look at the number of unemployed increasing locally. Look at the companies shutting down. Look in the pawn shops. They are full of tools and guns. People don't sell their tools and guns until everything else is gone. Time is short people. When you make choices make good ones. You are likely not gonna get to make them again.

Ron Paul has the right message most of the time but sometimes he goes way off the reservation. If we are going to be a super power and help all these countries then we can't have a position that it is ok for Iran to get a nuclear weapon. I am all for getting out of the interventionist mentality but a nuclear Iran would destabilize the entire region even more. Any smart republican president would make Ron Paul either Fed Chair or treasury Secetary. His big gripe is monetary policy so let him have it but I think there is a little more to being president than currency. Great message just wrong messenger. Christie/Rubio 2012
