Milton Considers Tax Increase

New revenues needed for $320,000 deficit


MILTON — The Milton Town Council is considering a significant increase in property taxes and imposing a gross rental-receipts tax to cover a $320,000 deficit in the fiscal year 2012 budget.

Council discussed taxes at the Aug. 11 budget workshop session. Following a public hearing Aug. 16, council could vote on each tax individually at the Aug. 18 council meeting.
