Perry Comments, Record Face New Scrutiny After Campaign Announcement

Texas Gov. Rick Perry is quickly learning what it means to be a presidential candidate, as the off-color comments for which he is renowned attract instant scrutiny on the campaign trail.

Exhibit A. On the same day he filed his candidacy papers, Perry was captured on camera suggesting Texans might want to rough up Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke if he tries to tackle the economic slump by printing more money.

Perhaps --- perhaps --- if a few more politicians thought there might be some repercussions, like an ace-whipping, for all the backroom lying, cheating, and stealing that they do at the expense of "we, the people" while enriching themselves and their circle of fat-cat friends, then maybe, just maybe, there would be a LOT less lying, cheating, and stealing at the public trough. Just saying....I guess the media's attempts to color Perry as a reincarnation of Bush isn't getting the traction they want, so see if painting him as a "violent and high strung" (therefore, unpredictable and dangerous, uh huh) can damage his standing. Don't mess with Texas! Personally, I think Bernanke DOES need just what Perry prescribes....

Perry is right.Printing money for political purposes is treason.

People are too sensitive. It was obviously a figure of speech. Maybe Bernanke should just chuckle and move on.
