Governor O'Malley Irene Update

I just got off the phone with Governor O'Malley. Out of the 800,000 customers without power when the storm hit, 443,000 still remain without power. Some of his concerns were the slim possibility that the waters from up north, N.J. & PA. could settle back here in Maryland but they have not had to open any flood gates anywhere. His other concern was the sediment going into the Chesapeake Bay. The MDE will be watching that very closely. Mcready Hospital also re-opened at 4 PM today.

Ahh! Isn't mother nature wonderful ,she has given us the rain we needed. My grass is green again , I love it. The animals of the forest are alive and well.
O'Malley is concerned about sediment into the bay? Now , if you think about it , nobody can do anything about it. He's trying to impress some people..

He's concerned about sediment in the Bay? THAT'S on his priority list?? I wonder what he is considering taxing to help pay for the "study' on the effects of sedimentation in the Bay. Then, tax us for a "commission" to recommend actions. Then a new department to enact these 'recommendations'. Don't laugh. Its' 50-50 that these things actually went thru his mind. Maybe 70-30. Think of the JOBS!! Think of the tax revenue!! Think of the Presidency, your excellency!!
